Pancake Sunday 11:22AM
I am confirmed in my ability to choose excellent flatmates. Today Gerry had invited a couple of her friends around, they baked pancakes with maple sirrup, bananas, mandarins, sugar & cinamon, bacon, and fruit salad. I was invited to dine with them on this most legendary brunch and while Tammy was an excellent flatmate, she never did this for me.
The day sucked weather wise. I usually revel in the refreshing air that is a Wellingtonian cold day, but today the cold bit a little too hard. I went round to Damians place and fixed a few bugs in these diary entries, I realised yet again that I have a massive problem with mixing up the words diary and dairy. Who made these two words so similar? They should be shot. We went for a coffee and I got spicy wedges which I could taste and smell on my breath for about 6 hours afterwards.
We played netball tonight. I walked the 30min walk out in the cold, it was good but I need a beany for my ears, I sometimes get earache when its too cold you see. Anyway we did alright the first 3 quarters then got dicked in the last. They shot a few good 2 pointers and rocketed head. I play attack and they also had a big dude on defense who was pretty good at getting in the way and intercepting, damn him. I think I need practise at shooting. May try to go a couple of times this week after work so I can improve.
What more is there to say? Gerry and I played cards tonight as thats what you do when you don't have a TV. Fiona came over and gave me my rent money for the car park. She is full of too much energy sometimes and directs it into talking. Apparently I bounce up and down on my feet when I'm energetic... well, you gotta do something with that excess energy
Thomas 11:35AM
I also spoke to my Brother Thomas in Dunedin today. He told me of how it was snowing down there right at the moment, I think he wanted to ring up and share his excitement, but damn him, I want snow too. The likelyhood of that happening in Wellington tomorrow is like 1 in a 1000. Snow is my best friend. It is cool and exciting when it snows. But then speaking to Thomas that had reminded me of something. When I had been in Dunedin I had had an idea, I had been thinking about how cool it would be to ski down the road on the hill we lived on. None of us in the flat had skiis so I looked about to improvise. My eyes rested upon my trusty 1.5 litre coke bottle. I got two of these, cut holes out of the side near the bottom and placed my feet into them. It was a little tight but they were like smooth plastic shoes. They could potentially be ideal for skiing down the hill in. I stashed the coke skiis away safely and patiently awaited the next time it snowed enough to cover the road. That was my last year at uni and it never snowed that heavily again. The coke shoes probably still rest untried in the Speights Flat in good old Dunners. I placed a charge on my brother to try this theory out. He had recently injured his knee tho so was not up for the challange. I told him to get Eddie to do it. He mentioned that he and Eddie were probably a size 2 litre or 2.25 litre tho as my brothers have big feet. I hope they try this, I am sure it would work sweet and would be so cool. I remember though having images of an ambulance carrying me away over snow covered ground with bare feet raised in the air, covered only by coke bottles...
Sleep tight my friends, and remember, the best story teller is the one in your head
