The Book of Ashes

Ashes

Legend in his own mind, creator of all you see here, he walks this Earth on the path of the becoming.

A dream of the masquerade party to come... 6:35AM

Behind big wooden doors, lies a corridor and some stairs. And if one were to climb the stairs, they would see a sun carved of polished bronze staring down at them from a ceiling to take ones breath away. Twisted metal banisters line these stairs which lead up to a ball that has been going for a thousand years and has yet a thousand more before it will be fully played out. Time moves differently in this place and nobody ever wants to leave. And if one were to walk alone into this ball, hiding behind a mask, they would instantly have two princeses on their arm, beautiful beyond describing. And with a cute little giggle shared between them, they would impart upon you a hug such as to leave your whole body wanting and a kiss to take your breath away. Now you dance and dine and play and the years past by and you achieve nothing that you wanted to, but you are happy here and that is all that matters. But then one day, after a thousand years or so, the ball comes to an end and you are left standing by yourself. So you look around but your life has moved on and left you with nothing. You are no one, you have been stripped bare, and for what? One short moment that now exists only in your memories.

As you can see emotions tug at me from many different angles. Imagine the above as a dream and try interpret it if you may. It has no exact meaning, just bits of thought, sown together, to form a story, one yet to be played out.

Today was my day off. I went into work and sat through my weekly development meeting. Then I went out for a coffee with my mother and sister. Mum gave me my first birthday card since shes not going to be here for my birthday. Robyn and I then went looking at costumes. I discovered that I have the kind of face that masks were not designed for. This comes as no surprise as helmets don't fit me in general either. I have a long thin shaped head which people don't usually cater for. I then went out to my cousins place and gave him a hand with creating his web site. He is going to enter a competition in which you can win a computer for the best website (those who played in the rockquest can enter I think). I reckon he has a good chance as his site is quite good. Anyway I came home and am stuffing around. I am still tired, hence I am writing early tonight and will go to bed early tonight as well. So thats me, tired and sleepy and waiting for a ball..
