Suck day but going for sponsorship 11:38AM
Hmmm, what to say about today? Theres a few things I guess. First work sucked. Second the day was good. I had lunch in the park basking in the cool almost-spring sun. Third the day sucked so I left at 4pm again. I'm taking a day off on Friday to go to Palmy but it looks like I'm going to have to work half that day as I've already used up two hours of it. Nevermind. Yes thats right I was listening to Nirvana today, first album and they rocked, hello, hello, hello, hello now. Here we are now, entertain us, we're Nirvano, come to drain us. (I never get the words right but something to that effect).
So I got home then went out for a quick blade. It was nice out and I met up with Tammy going for a jog so I bladed with her. She is quite the little runner. She goes along at a slow but steady pace for ages. When she first started running I went out with her and made it about a quarter of the way to the half way mark. She kicked my arse and I didn't like that. I swore to be able to run that far within 2 weeks. Well now its over half a year later and I've only just run that far tonight. I could have done it ages ago but have been concentrating on running up the hill instead. But I'm getting ahead of myself here.
So me and Tammy are going for a jog after work tomorrow which will be good. So after that I was meant to go round to Damians place but had to call my brother Eddie as I didn't get hold of him yesterday for his birthday (I did try). We had a chat, he's working hard, digging holes on an orchard and planting trees. He's on his holidays in Alexandra until Sunday. Then I cooked a little tea and turned the computer on...
Now that reminds me. At lunch time at work I checked out the Chupa Chup site and sent them a cool email. It went something along the lines of, hey dudes, you should check out our website and our couch mission where we carried a couch through town handing out Chupa Chups to everyone. Maybe we could get some sponsorship in return? So after work I checked my email and found a response saying, thanks, we've forwarded your email on to the NZ people to see if they want to work out any collaboration. Sweet, I was on a little buzz with that one so I went and wrote emails to the Coke site and to Liquor King and to SmokeCDs. Now the thing is the Perihelion site is not a comercial site, its just me and a few guys having fun so we don't want crappy ads everywhere but we're happy to put a link at the bottom of this page under the sponsored area with a write up of how cool these people are etc. I've also only chosen people I would want to be sponsored by. I used to drink so much coke it isn't funny. If you read through my references above (they are randomly generated each time) you'll eventually find a poem about coke, its actually pretty cool, at least I think so. Chupa Chups are the ideal thing to hand out but note that when you have 120 of them you can't eat them all at once, it starts to hurt the roof of your mouth after about 5 or 6. Damian and I found that out the hard way. Now smoke CDs have pretty good prices and are right at the bottom of my work so I pass there every day. I brought my Gatecrasher CD there at an excellent price along with a few others and I respect these guys also Liquor King is just down the road and you all know I'm trying to start up my own liquor cabinent, problem is the bottles tend to evaporate when no one else but mes around! Some help in that area would be good. It would also be awesome if we had a few spare CDs to hand out to people as prizes. But thats the deal. I sent out a whole lot of really cool, praise-you-like-I-should emails to these guys and now we sit back to see the results. You might be seeing some thing down the bottom in that sponsored area prety soon (if I'm lucky)
Note to Dan, buzz from sponsorship email 11:42AM
Dan - I created the site, I own it, I know every thing that goes on within it, well at least the Perihelion knows every thing and it tells me the odd thing. If you go browse thru the trillion page zone you'll find somewhere a poem with a link to a page that is a summary page of the most recently added pages. This saves you searching for new stuff all the time, its rather convient I think.
Anyway back to my story. After this I hung around waiting for Amy to turn up for a run. She didn't come but then I didn't really expect her too that much. I was on a little buzz from the emails so I put sublime into my discman and hooned out the door for a jog (now about 10pm at night). The music was a little jumpy and the CD was not sponsored by anyone, but could have been :) My discman is a free one I got with a magazine subscription so isn't that good. I managed to run all the way around Oriental bay and back though, the same run that Tammy once took me on so I reckon I'm now up to par with her at least, I'm sure I could have run further though. After that my legs were a little wobbly so I finished off my remaining marshmellows (just cause they were there). While I had a shower Gerry started playing a song on guitar so I came out and we sang and played U2 - One, The Eagles - Hotel California & Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight. These are three excellent guitar songs and we sounded pretty damn good if you ask Gerry and me. I had only played Hotel California before so it required a little bit of learning. Its funny how your eyes can't keep up with the reading if you're trying to read the chords and play them at the same time. I will have to take these songs up to Si's place for his 21st, he'd be into that heaps. Well gotta read a bit then go to bed. CYA tomorrow
