Today someone got out the firehose and washed the sky clear of clouds. Its a beaut of a day but of course its Wellington so theres a fair degree of wind about still. Never-the-less today I wish to speak of perception and my other news will wait till I have confirmation...
They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and while this is most definitly true, I believe it goes a little deeper than that. Most people can see the beauty in a little flower if they take the time to stop and view it or the excellence of a perfectly clear night when the stars are out bright but most people don't take the time or just don't notice these things. Beauty is in the appreciation of this world. You can stop and step back to see beauty in everything and then you begin to wonder why you were missing out before. Why pass everything by when you can stop and admire it? Why cook tea when you could first sit out on the deck and watch the sun go down? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it shines strongest from those who take the time to admire it. There you go, thats my contribution to this world.
