TT skiing trip 1:46AM
Friday I went to the super market and a chick there was giving away free samples of wine. I always try all of them, never remembering which is which but rather enjoying the free drinks. I also always want to keep trying them again and again but I never do. I decided this time to buy a bottle and went and sat in the sun at on the girls deck and drank my wine. It was very nice. Jessie came home and had a glass with me then Crispy turned up so we were off. We picked up Scott and then Tom and it was all on. Techno in the car with Tom being quality control and a short stop to pick up more booze. The trip up was cool. We made quite a few toilet stops on the way and Tom got quite tanked. I eased off after my early start and was thankful the next morning for that.
The place Tom had hired out was nice with an excellent fire place keeping everyone warm and plenty of space. It also came with a free cabin nazi who liked to keep things in tight control. Tom and I on the other had got a quarter of a can, a tiny room with bunks and a curved roof and a little window in the bottom corner. I kept confusing the toilet with our room (they were right next door and not much different in size). It was cool tho, somewhere to stay and $5 cheaper per night.
The next morning we were up early and snowboarding. It was poor visibility up the hill and the snow had melted quite a bit since last I was there but up the top it was still good and we had an excellent time. I have improved heaps since I started. By the end of it we were all stiff and sore. We came back to a nice curry put on by Liz and some desert courtesy of us acompanied by plenty of alcohol and a nice roaring fire. It was all good. We hit the sack just a little earlier this night and were up the next day for another go. I swapped to skiing this time as my knees had been hurting by the end of the previous day. I also took my camera up for a few good photos. The chairlifts were closed for the first hour due to high winds and it was freezing up there but they quickly opened up. No tee bars running tho. The visibility was medium with a few good clear runs where we motored down the hill. I realised I am so much better at skiing and get more of a buzz from it. Even with my camera in my pocket and taking it easy I was still motoring down the hill. You can go so much faster when you can actually see the track in front of you. I tried a few easy jumps and also learnt how to do 360 stops on the snow. Very cool. I managed to do the day without crashing once which was good and wasn't half as sore as the day before. Crispy did about half a day and Scott didn't go up at all due to sore legs and lack of sleep the previous night. Tom and I were keen to stay on but we ended up going to some hot pools instead one the way home which were pretty relaxing and good for us. All up it was an excellent trip.
Now I'm back home and trying to think of what to do next. I am applying for the USA green card lottery which could be cool and thinking of doing a trip down to see Dad in Qtown sometime soon. Also I hear ChunkyB has a new car which he wants to test drive down here and maybe (please Tim) maybe I can get a ride back up with him. Rock on. An Auckland trip would be sweet. For now I tidy up all those little jobs that are hanging around
