Blobbing in Queenstown 8:05AM
The rest of the week I have spent blobbing. I think I've put on a bit of fat since I left. Corne is the best cook ever. She can cook anything and she does. She wants to cook me every single meal she knows while I'm here and she encourages me to indulge. I don't really need any encouragement and so I'm eating massive meals. She made this wicked strawberry cheesecake for desert tonight. Done properly too. Strawberries mixed up with honey and vodka and other stuff for the topping. No shortcuts. I am getting spoilt here.
Last night I went out for my first night on the town in Queenstown since I've been here. I did the lonesome spader mission and did quite well actually (that is to stay out all night by myself, usually I can't handle that). I spent a bit of money tho and got quite drunk. I visited virtually every pub I knew and ended up at The World (it going off the most). People there were drinking shakers from teapots and two guys were dancing on the dance floor by themselves for ages before a group of chicks got up then everyone got up. I ended up doing alright dancing next to these two girls and another dude was trying to hit on one of them. They weren't paying him any attention and next time I went to get a drink he came and talked to me asking (essentially) for me to be his wingman (or spading partner). He was pretty funny. He still didn't do that well even with my help. Martin called up from Auckland later on and gave me some advice. I need help with my closure. I can quite happily dance next to the chick but I never close the deal. I ended up wondering down the street and asking people where else to go (after the world closed). I found another bar and chatted to some dude there who looked a little like Van Dessal (sp?). I ended up going to that red lit bar and dancing there till 5 in the morning. I then made the mistake of walking home (about an hour and a halfs walk) on my sore foot. I was pretty fucking tired by the time I got home but it was an alright night. No action tho.
The other night we went out for dinner in Arrowtown and then a movie there, Mulhullen Drive, which I still don't understand. We had a goldrush cheesecake for dessert which was the best cheesecake I've ever had in my life. Then after the movie we went to this cool little bar which was a low roofed, old timers bar with stone floor and walls, wooden rafters and comfy couches round a fire place. I liked it, it had an excellent atmosphere to it.
Now my time here is done. I'm looking to hitch home tomorrow, weather dependant. Will be seeing most of ya's soon then..
