The scrumpy one! 1:30AM
Can you see me grin? A cresent as wide as my face, streching the bounds of my skin, threatening to envelop all I can see. Those who see me might be scared I would consume them. Maybe I would...
Scrumpy is a wonderful thing. It definitely has some strange effects on me. I grin more, am very happy and much more confident. I loose most of my inhibitions and things are always sweet. Maybe there is something in the scrumpy that triggers the release of seratonin? Maybe it is something else? Who knows, but still it is all good..
The $25 voucher for booze, the first sale of my photos, the glorious day. 12:38PM
Getting gutsy in my old age. Begining to take a few risks as I actually work out how this world ticks. Its good when you finally work it out but by that time I think it'll just about all be over and you'll be ready to start again. Whether you'll get the chance or not is a question best left to the theologians.
Today was a beautiful day. I went out for a walk along Oriental Parade, walking the wall that divides land from sea and spotted a little fish (a spottie) lazily swimming around. I watched it curiously for a while and wondered if they have many thoughts. I don't think much actually crosses their tiny little minds, you can kind of see it in their eyes. Those empty eyes, devoid of any intelligence whatsoever. Anyway I walked on, quite content with life, for you see I sold my first digital photo today through Pohutakawa. It was a nice enlarged shot of a Pohutakawa flower in blossom which I had made for the shop and which wasn't for sale but never mind, beggars can't be choosers can they? So it is a begining anyway. I also received my Smirnoff half day off $25 voucher (I won it cause I'm so cool). That day I am looking forward to. It shall be a glorious day, filled with sun and laughter and many drunk people. Kat & Dan are going to Kat's Christmas party and Damian and Kelly are going to Damians Christmas party so they won't be along for a while but afterwards we shall catch up and all shall be drunk.
What is in the pipeline? Plenty to do. Much of it leisure. Kates 21st is coming up soon. Should be cool. Just delivered the invite to Damian & Kelly and they are definitely in. Damian was organising a ride as I left.
Much reading and writing to be done. Much indeed. Also project doesn't-have-a-name-yet to be worked on. Is looking good.
Must also tell you of Chris Butcher. A guy we went to uni with who is now working on Halo 2 for the X-box. Arguably one of the best games out there on any gaming platform. He is a genius, as much so as I have ever met one in real life. He was a year ahead of us at uni doing his computer science degree and he was maybe 2 years younger. He also already had a degree and a bit in maths. He had started uni by corespondance at the age of 13 or so. He also wrote the raytracing program that we did most of our graphics projects on. He was definitly smart. Noticeably more so than others in our classes and now he is working on the legend game. I think it was his choice of all the careers in the world which he could have choosen from to be working where he is. Child prodogy and he came from out in the wopwops near Oamaru somewhere. Bet I can still pull the chicks better than he can tho
