The Book of Ashes

Starting back at work... 8:16AM

Its been a long week. I started back at work on Monday and it was as if I had never left. Well I now sit in the Dave corner, but I have a window seat and non smoking at that so I get a view as I day dream through the days. I've been tired through most of them but considering my big weekend and the fact that I have been sleeping in for the past year I'm doing damn well. Day 1 and I came home pumped (after a day of being dead). Went to the gym, had dinner, watched TV, played on the computer then went to bed. You definitly have no time to do things when you're working.

Wednesday I went and caught up with my cousins up Mt Vic. They got all excited to see me and we ended up first playing cards (where the looser had to floss) and then black jack where I was the house and we kept score on paper. I cleaned them out eventually and only the younger one who had to go to bed early ended up coming out on top. I don't know whether its right or wrong to teach your cousins how to gamble effectively.

So this whole week has reminded us that winter is coming. Its been grey and dreary and full of rain. But thats ok, I've always enjoyed the rain, its just when you offer to walk someone home and get caught in a downpour that its not so fun.

So now I wear the suit again and let me tell you, its looking a little battle worn. Its fraying round the edges and has wrinkles from one to many water fights around the office. The office is the same. Sitfy Tom sits down the end and cruises over every couple of hours to relieve his boredom. Big boss Paul sits in his office, dreaming up plans to keep us from rebelling and the rest of them, well they are just there to keep up the illusion that this is a work place.

Last night was a few quite drinks at Leuven with Tom, Jackie, Bonnie, Crispy, Martin and Averil. Its good to be back in these drinking circles once again. Good to be earning the money once again. But for now I'm flat broke. My last pay check from the insurance people was only half a month so I've got a month to last till I own dosh again. At least it will be a full check once again.

So anyway, I hear you ask, whats the story? Well I'm back on trial for a couple of weeks to see how it goes. For now the arms are behaving. At one time they were getting sore an hour into work and were not at all fun by the end of the day. Now I barely feel anything but I have to watch them, carefully.

Other than this my student loan is down under 2 gees. Thats enough gees for most people to withstand without passing out. Soon though I shall be down to zero gees. Free fall. The state of non-deptorship. I shall then be happy. Katmandu has a sale on. I wanna buy a tent
