So long as work continues to eat up our lives, so long as discontent fills our hearts, so long as there are still those amoungst us that believe, then I shall continue to broadcast the truth about the system.

From my perch up high above the city I look down. It is covered in beautiful sunshine that provides health and life to our planets plant life and animals. But not to us. We sit inside under fake lights and a controlled atmosphere. We deny ourselves the feeling of fresh air on our faces, we deny ourselves the sunlight that keeps us alive, we deny ourselves freedom. We are a slave to the system. We know we don't want to be here but also we know the consequences are worse.

Only if everyone changes can one change. But ironically it will begin with the few, the rebels, those amoungst us we consider strange and outside the system. It is they that will lead our revolution. Already the technology is coming. That which once enslaved us shall eventually release us from our burdens. I speak of laptops with highspeed modems, of digital devices and of technologies envisaged but not yet here. Already the technology is becoming smaller, less obtrusive. Around me there is a stirring, a desire and a knowledge that working inside is not right.

Soon the few will rise, people will begin to work from home, from the park, from on the road. No longer will we have the need to group together in one small office to communicate, for that is all it is. Now our resources will be shared remotely. People will communicate via small web cams, our society will begin to relax, people will build parks to work in, huge forrests filled with birds and plant life, unlike our parks of today. This will be where we work. This will be where we play. The time is not that far away. Now, after you have read this, it is a little closer. Remember this moment, remember these thoughts you are having, don't let them fade away...

Old computer gear is rapidly becoming a serious desposal problem. How many crappy monitors like mine are there out there that have no recycling value? A million in NZ? More? Where do they all go? Is this problem getting any better? Only if we move to LCD screens which have far less waste...

Now I must dump my old monitor..
