Holdsworth-Jumbo continued... 8:49AM

From Jumbo it was going to be a down hill slog to the next hut. Natalie had done this before but coming the other way and told us that it was a bit of a mish. She wasn't wrong. An hour and a half later of straight down hill and we were weak at the knees. We stopped at the hut there next to the river and decided to wade over to the other side where there looked to be lots of sun and grass. Natalie slipped on the way across (in the slow moving part) and got half wet. Then Martin went back for peanuts and suntan lotion and returned with the left half of his body wet and the right dry. It looked pretty funny.

The day was hot, the sun pounded down and we relaxed on rocks and grass. Slowly we dried and finally decided it was time to move on. The next day I was a little sunburnt on the arms and legs (where I didnt' put any sun tan lotion). The rest of the walk back was quite beautiful, following the river down, past pools, over swing bridges, through the cool forest. We made it out by about 4pm. Tired, worn, but happy. It had been an excellent tramp. Just enough to stretch the legs and leave my calves stiff 3 days later. Now I can't wait to go on my next tramp...

Did I mention we saw tree-huggers in the forest? I will post photos later.

Couldn't be bothered with photos. Created a tramping area instead. All the photos, plus some new ones... Enjoy!
