It was a perfect day in Wellington, sunny with little to no wind. As the sun grew lower in the sky the people began to arrive. At first only a few and then more and more until the ground and surrounding hills were covered in eager eyes, chatting, looking, waiting...
It was a great night. We watched Pheonix Foundation at the sound shell in the gardens. Very mellow. Very cool. A great way to finish an afternoon.
As the sun set the gardens began to light up. A little at first and then brighter and brighter. They do this every year. Coloured spot lights on trees, under bushes, arrays of lights through the flowers. It is very cool. Very magical.
Martin, Bonnie and I walked home. Coming around the water front we looked out over the harbour to see a huge rusty orange moon rising over the hills. It cast its ominous glow over the sea towards us telling us of particles in the atmosphere and fires in Australia. It looked very cool. I might try and get a photo tonight if I can.
In the mix: It has been rumoured that the Ashman has plans (no timeframe tho) towards adding an image upload function to the Perihelion. Don't know who started that rumour.
