The body is a machine. 10:03PM

Remember: The body is a machine, it has the potential to run for 100km, to lift a car off a person or to work for hours on end, day after day.

Remember: The machine must be well maintained. I have the potential to run for 100km but I can only run 10km currently. Diet and exercise are the key.

Remember: The machine can break down. Treat it right.

I don't bruise easily. In fact if I thought hard enough I could probably remember every bruise I've had, well probably not but its in the order of 1 a year. It takes a bit to bruise me, none of this knocking a table, getting out of bed or falling over crap. I currently have an excellent bruise. Its on the palm of my hand, the drumstick that is the base of the thumb on my right hand, pretty much the whole drumstick. Its getting better now but on Monday I could hardly move my thumb. I was playing a random game of touch on Sunday and rolled my thumb on the ground while scoring. It hurt quite a bit then too. As if that wasn't enough I'm nurturing my second within a week. Its on my knee. I am now playing indoor soccer with the brothers two (Tom & Eddie) and some other friends. I didn't even hurt my knee in the game. I was at the side, another guy came off so I put my hands on the wall and went to leap it, only it was the door that I grabbed and as I pushed up it opened into my knee that was quickly rising. Needless to say I didn't make it over that go and it hurt like buggery for a sec. Luckily I took over goalie for a while and it had time to recover. Still there shall be a bruise to show for that one. Image getting a plank of hard wood in two hands then pulling it down and at the same time bringing your knee up hard at the same time. Now imagine the wood doesn't break, neither does your knee, but they both regret participating in this silly game. Dumb tax. I paid it twice tonight. The other time was after work I hurried home to get my gear, got home and realised my key was still at work in my work pants that I'd worn to see a client for a short while. Bugger. Oh well off to the pub for a beer till Bonnie gets there. 30mins of walking paid as dumb tax.

Don't ever forget you are as good as you want to be. Because if you want to, you will do it and if you do it, you will be good. If you don't do it, then you didn't really want it.
