Cause its fucking freezing here... Well cold enough for Wellington, its not actually below zero.
Wellington it putting on the party in honour of Damian & Kellys farewell. For those that didn't know (and thats probably a lot of people), Damian and Kelly are moving to Sydney to look for work. Their last day at work was yesterday and in their honour Wellington closed off Courtenay place, they had bands playing on the street, a big screen and tons of people dressed up in red. Thats right, the barmy army has come to invade. The All Blacks are playing the Lions tonight and its going to be a massive night. Courtenay place is closed off for the whole weekend and there are a lot of people in town.
So what happened at Damian's farewell last night? It started with quiet drinks at Tueplo. Quay had a tab on the bar and after the quiet people had paid their respects, the drunken ones remained. Firstly someone brought Damian the soap dispensor from the bathroom, it was a huge silver thing, and he tried to hide it under his leather jacket, of course pulling the jacket around it caused the nozzle to go down and dispense soap under his jacket. Then the other table started creating small fires in their little candles. One guy picked one up to remove it to our table and I picked it up to move it on but it was REAL hot and I dropped it in mid flight, it flew accross the floor and looked like I randomly picked it up and hurled it accross the room. The other guy was worse off and nursed his thumb in his drink for the rest of the night.
After that we headed outside. We gave Crispy a call and Damian let off some illegal fireworks he had (don't ask, I don't know) in the street. I don't know if we made much sense to you Crispy but be scared, Damian is very keen for a Fear and Loathing version of Los Vegas for your birthday.
So after this we headed down Courtenay place which was packed with people. There were marques everywhere, door charges and queues to all the pubs. We ended up going to Hope Bros (the old FATS) and playing pool there. Damian and his mate managed to find a guy with a knife and anoy him while they played pool against him. They wanted to bet $100 on a game. After that I left them there. Only Damian can get himself into situations like that.
TONIGHT iS BIG. RUGBY NIGHT!
