Black Seeds and Jury Service... 9:27PM

A lone disco ball spins, dwarfed by the huge room it spins in. Underneath a thousand bodys move to the rhythm of the music. Colours shine and the band plays on. The Black Seeds played at the Town Hall this Saturday and it was pretty awesome. They got the lights going on the disco ball and it was cool, filled the whole room up with spots. Did the mish on Sunday looking at houses on opposite sides of Wellington, Mirarar to Ngaio and back again. Saw Steves new place in Mt Vic. Got a bit of work to do yet but will look good when its finished. Had an awesome roast and apple and blackberry pie for desert. Didn't sleep well, not due to the food. Maybe due to the movie, Ultraviolet that I watched till late.

This morning I had my first experience of Jury Service at the District Court. They require you down there by 9:15am. About 100 of us squished into a room. They then go through the rules with you with lots of waiting around then names are drawn out of a ballot box. I got called out. 1 out of 35 that get to go into the court room. We waited round a bit more. Those that weren't called also had to wait around in case anything went wrong and it had to be re-drawn. But in the end the person pleaded guilty at the last minute so we weren't needed and got to head back to work.

Tomorrow morning we're going for breakfast at the Occidental to celebrate Eddie's birthday at 7am. Thats crazy talk. That means getting up at 6am, a ime soon after midnight. Its a 40 minute walk there, which is fine, in the light of day. But the dawn that is almost light is best left for the early bird and I am not he. I've just had a news flash. Breakfast is now at 7:30am. The Occidental doesn't open till then. Great. Best have an early night then.
