Let the weddings begin. It seems it is the year for getting married. Two of my cousins have announced that they are engaged (the first of 20 odd cousins, me being the oldest). Mae and Jacob are getting married this weekend in Fielding (Mae is our old flatmate). So we will be heading up to Palmy to visit mum and go to the wedding. It is also mums birthday on Monday so we will celebrate that on Sunday.
So recently there have been a lot of Wellingtonians driving to the coast or high places to just get out and stare at the sky. Currently there is a comet visible at night that is apparently one of the brightest visible. I've seen it twice now. It appears as a long streak (quite long actually) in the low sky over where the sun sets (roughly). It would look good if we were away from all the city lights. What amazes me is the number of people coming out to see it. There were hundreds along the south coast (Princes Bay) on the weekend. All just standing there, staring at the sky. Amazing.
So Friday night was Texas Hold'em poker night at my place. There was Steve, Tom, Leon, Chris and myself. It was our first game playing for real money ($20 in each, winner takes all) but we got it sussed. There was a good effort with dressing up (I'll post some photos later) and Tom the sifty bugger came away with the lot. Next time I tell ya, next time...
So finally getting back into the running thing. Is good, will try and keep it up. Have managed to loose my raincoat somewhere, don't know where or when. Is a bugger, if only I knew where I had it last...
