Quick update 11:26PM
We were going to go tramping this weekend but the weather is crap so it looks like staying at home weather. Its been a long week...
Old car is back now with the leak fixed. Apparently had a rust hole in the boot that was leaking water in and when we had it parked on the slope at Ellice street drive it ran all the way forward to the drivers feet.
Garden is growing lots of small veges. There are 3 random pumpkins growing there that we didn't plant. Grass is starting to come up around the area that I flattened.
Currently it seems I don't ever have enough money. I know thats partially due to the fact that I've just bought a new car, paid for two car registrations, tickets to summer set, lots of petrol and $500 odd for fixing the leak in the old car. But I'm now 5 months behind on clothes shopping (1 item per month) and I'm starting to see Nationals point of view that tax cuts are overdue (although Labour now also has this point of view as does the rest of the country). Tax cuts would be good. Pay rise would be good (my 3 years is coming up in March). Need money. Maybe I should chop down some power lines and sell the copper. I hear thats what the street kids are doing these days for spare cash. In fact the radio rang up a scrap metal yard and asked how much they would get for some length of copper wire like power lines. The lady told a price. They asked if it mattered if it had cut marks on it, she said no. They said no questions asked, she said no. Pretty bloody dodgy.
Reading Blue Mars at the moment (Kim Stanley Robinson). Its not an easy book to read. Kinda reads like a history book might except its about the future settling and terraforming of Mars. Although it gets a bit boring it has some fantastic ideas in it. I wonder in what year the first space elevator will be built?
