Olympics 11:00PM
So the Olympics are underway. China are at the top of the medal tally, the US catching up slowly. NZ is not even on the charts yet. Stuff.co.nz has a medal tally for NZ with three big fat zeros. Man Michael Phelps is a machine isn't he? Going for 8 gold medals. One individual will (most likely) beat our entire country's takings. I like it though, I like to see people who are that good that they're almost guaranteed to win. I guess the rowing is our best hope, but thats still not guaranteed. I don't know about you guys but I still find it funny every time they announce the womans coxless pair. Maybe I'm just imature.
Did I mention that I had bought the Civ expansion pack? Its added new life into the game. Not that I'm playing that much but got to make the most of the 22" monitor somehow.
Apparently the NZ is dropping against the US (81 down to 69 in the last 6 months and the same to come again). This means our export sector does better but everything we purchase from overseas becomes more expensive (read computer gear and toys). Booger.
Reading a good book at the moment called The Drunkard's Walk. Its about chance, probability and statistics but in interesting situations. Being a maths boy I'm liking it.
