There is still no sign of my suitcase. It's a bit worrying, but it is still within the 13-25 days that NZ Post say that it will take. At this rate I may have to start a job without a suit or shoes. I've managed to pretend that I have one so far by borrowing Joachim's stuff, but his shoes are at least one size too small, so that practice cannot continue.

I managed to navigate the paperwork and figure out how to get a cell phone here, but I am at the mercy of the bank, who I need to send me the correct paper work, which they are very slow at doing. In the mean time I am fielding phone calls for Tammy from recruitment agents on her phone.

Between Joachim and Mike, we have had excuses to go out for a fair few lunches and dinner. Last Thursday night we had an explore of St Katherine's docks, and walked around the outside of the London Tower (We will visit it properly at a later date). On Sunday we walked from Canary Wharf to Wapping (where Joachim used to live) and had an english sunday roast at a pub called ""The Prospect of Whitby"". It is by the river and was built in 1520. I hope tonight to go to one of the many restaurants in China Town. I have done a lot of walking. I have linked Canary Wharf, Wapping, Tower of London, Moorgate and St Pauls. I have linked Baker Street, Oxford Street, Picadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, China Town, Covent Garden and Buckingham Palace.

Today I started to tackle the British Museum. I spent two hours there and only managed to look at two of the 80+ display rooms. I have started at ""Pre-History"" so that I can get things in the right order. They have some tools and jewelery on display that is 34,000 years old, and some very basic stone tools made by early humans that are up to 800,000 years old.

I feel the need to get myself a digital camera. Tammy forgets to take it places, and doesn't like to take as many photos as I do :) So, no photos to show yet.

There is a hotel that has been around forever. It has it's own street (just off the Strand), and the cars drive on the opposite side of the road to the rest of the city. How special. How inconvenient. Speaking of the wrong side, pedestrians walk on the right hand side of the footpath here. How wrong is that? They drive on the left, but walk on the right. It becomes super complicated when you want to ride your bike around - sometimes on the road, sometimes on the path.

We went to the New Zealand shop in Covent Garden. Mostly Australian stuff. Mike had to buy a can of L&P; and some aeroplane lollies. The frozen meats looked appealing, but the prices were not (11 pounds for four sausages).

I've been watching the storms that you have been getting, and read about the ferry crashing and spilling diesel into Wellington Harbour. I am enjoying some nice sunshine here. Ha ha.

Last Friday night we went out for drinks with Tammy's new work mates. Yuk. We ended up at a bar that was the Fat Ladies Arms with Karaoke. I have to get into the clubs some time. I'm just not ready to start paying door charges yet.

10000 missed 8:16AM

Shit! I missed my 10000th day. It was 11 days ago and I completely missed it.

Boo hoo hoo
