So that was pretty horrific news about the terrorist attacks on the USA!. I didn't believe it at first, when I got a text message from a friend, we were wandering around the Tate Modern art gallery. It just didn't seem real.

I was up the World Trade Center in NY earlier this year. It's a very, very big building. I mean the building I used to work in is 31 floors, I worked on the 31st story. In New York that is considered a small building. The WTC is 107 stories I think, and there was footage of it crashing down, collapsing like a toy building. Rather large planes crashing into it like something out of movie. I can't even begin to imagine the scale of it all. Luckily all my extended family that live in and around the New York state area are okay, but it will defiantly directly affect me over the next few months.

Here in London they are taking it all pretty seriously. Yesterday they evacuated all tall buildings, closed Heathrow airport and they have 1000 extra police on the streets. All I can say is that I hope the US realise it was a small fanatical group that were responsible and don't over-react with a massive retaliatory attack.

Okay on a more mundane note here is my update since the weekend. Friday I met up with my friend Jono, and his wife, who had just arrived in the UK. He was in NY last week and went up the WTC, and is understandably pretty shocked about it all too. We went for a wander around the south bank of the Thames and had dinner in the restaurant of the Tate Modern. This is on about the 8 floor, and for London has quite decent view over the city. Saturday afternoon it was out for a walk down the Thames over Tower Bridge and couple hours in nice pub. That night a big group of us headed out to Fabric (Ministry of Sound was playing Garage which doesn't really butter my muffin, and wasn't an option for our big club night). Fabric is one of the 'super clubs' in London and is quite huge. They had several big name DJs including John Digweed, who've I've been listening to for years since somebody introduced me to his legend CD (with DJ Sasha) called 'Northern Exposure'. Well large night. Didn't get home till 7am and had quite a nice walk through a deserted central London as the sun rose. Spent most of Sunday sleeping, then when we finally mustered enough brain cells between us we moved Craig to the new place he's staying. This is still considered central London but we, well me since I was the nominated driver!, were driving for well over an hour to get there.

Okay Poh wants to leave now. She's got a job interview at 2 so I'm wandering back to the flat with her now.
