The brass monkey and the welding gear. 4:36AM

So yeah crispy one is correct. There is plenty to write about here all right. Some I'll get too later.

My day starts at 6:30am. I get up shower etc.. then wake up one of my roommates. Paul, hes an english dude, who seems to take a lot less time in the morning to get ready. After attempting breakfast its off at 7:03am to catch the employee bus that comes past our apartment complex.. we are the first people on the bus. Its always colder than cold.

Now the cold is something I really need to mention. I live in the Fraser valley. This place is called the 'ice box of America' It has some of the lowest recorded temperature in the USA. The other day the bank which we drive past on the way to work, it has a temperature clock thing out side, said it was '7 F.. that's very cold indeed. I remember when I was young I used to open my mums deep freeze and freak out about our cold it was. Now I live somewhere where you open the front door and its colder .. and I work outside.

Anyway the bus cruises around the burbs of Fraser before hitting highway 40 and traveling the 2 miles to Winterpark. This is the main resort town, although the ski field is about another mile or so from there. So when we get there I clock in and get into my uniform, theres a quick meeting if it's a weekday, other wise its straight out onto the chair lift and up the hill. Then I get the first run down the hill, 'first tracks'. This is one of the highlights of the day. No one else has been down the slope, if it snowed over night theres smooth silent fresh snow to surf. Quite simply one of the best experiences.. the mechanic who checks the chair lift out before we start it always knows exactly why I can't wipe the smile off my face. That and its so cold its usually frozen ..

So more later. I'll tell you about my days off and what I get up to at work.. and Buckets Bar and laundry .. which is the employee hangout.
