I know Ash - not working after several years of driving a desk is cool. Unfortunatly I'm about to go back to it again. Since I can't let that white mushy stuff in my skell, that I keep bathing in beer and pharacuticals go un-excercised.

Today though I saved myself about '70 by calling some flight companies back and getting a cheaper deal than my flight back to NZ. I then called back the place I'd already booked with, half expecting them to tell me to sod off, since I'd already reserved the flight at the higher price.. but no they ring me back with a quote of 5p less. Saving me about '45.

Next cheeky mission was calling some of the 20 or so ocean freight companies that cater to travellers wanting to get their crap back home. I thought it was a little funny that the prices were so similar, like identical, between these places so I took the piss and asked one guy what the relationship was ownership-wise between them all. Well it turns out that there are basically two major companies operating, and own all the others. They cater the makerting slightly differently to get different markets, with different booking companies. Like students, travellers, professionals, familes.. But all your stuff ends up going with one or other of the two. So I rang around a few more from one company. Got a cheaper quote, then rang the other place and got them to undercut it. Not surprisingly they knew what the best quote from the other place was, and were happy to match.
Suspect. Oh well saved me '25 there. Thats enough for a flight one-way to Europe. Which is this hours plan.
