Four day weekend.. 2:13AM

Another massive weekend and I'm only just recovered from it now!.

I took last Friday off to turn it into a four day weekend with Waitangi day on Thursday. In London it was good if you started feeling okay by an equal number of days into the week as there were day in the weekend. For example wednesday morning for a two day weekend. This always seemed to be independent of the activity, a serious weekend of drinking, clubbing, cycling, skiing or anything else. Although maybe its just it takes that long for work to bring you back down again?

Very nearly had a duvet day today, but I'm too honest to spend a day at home in bed without actually being sick. Even though I've not got a huge amount of work to do.. and its hot and sunny outside, and I'm am more than a little 'sick' of work!

Anyway I had to come back into work on Friday to install some software for some demo, which was a bit of a pain. Leon had a quick mission to the Hutt to recover some very interesting hardware, this was supposed to be additional mission to the one to pick up scooter parts form the panel beater. But it ended up replacing it. We were heading out to recover some very interesting equipment that was being scrapped at a recycling place. These were used by some big corporate I can't name, for a pilot of some new technology, which they'd canned. Each unit cost about $16,000 USD new about 6 months ago. This guy had about three palletes full. We got them for $40 each. Really a win/win situation. The dude selling them made more than he was every going to make scrapping them, and Leon got something very cheap. Pity more things in life can't be that cool for everybody concerned!

Anyway Leon got about 40 of these things which basically filled his car. So I took the driving seat and left Leon to frot over his new electronic toys. I had organized to meet Deanne at the bus stop in Kelburn, for a 1:50pm bus, so was in bit of a hurry on the motorway.

I hate waiting for things more than I hate being late 2:19AM

At 1:48pm I was walking briskly up the short path to Kelburn shops from the flat, with plenty of time to spare, and pretty pleased with myself that although I had inhaled lunch, I wasn't running on Tom Time. (OK I had said I'd have a look at Deannes new kitten before catching the bus, and had to ditch that in favor of lunch, but I still wasn't late, yet!) Anyway I rang Deanne to tell her I'd meet her at the bus stop at 1:50.
She had actually told me 20 minutes early to make allowance for Tom time! Bitch! So I ended up sitting around at the bus stop for 20 minutes. Remembering all the while why I'm always cutting things so fine ' and have a rep for being late.. cos I really hate waiting for things!

The next two days were rugby. Rugby 7s to be exact. Anybody whos been reading and paying attention will remember that I went to my first one day cricket match the other day. So this was my first live rugby game. Okay sevens isn't real rugby and each game only lasts 14 minutes. But the whole thing did go on for most of 2 days!

All great fun, and i'll have to admit to quite enjoying rugby, although that may have had no small influence from the 30,000 other people jumping up and down around me. Still don't think I'll become a regular. Sorry Dee!.

Well what else. Had a busy as week. Which is about to kick off again in about 2 minutes time.

Ash - You should have paid the $5 on Saturady. You missed a very cool club.. managed to stay out till 5am and Sunday was a bit of write off. This weekend is looking a bit mental with the work BBQ and some stable weather for once.

Ash where are you? How did the date go? Why have you dropped off the face of the earth?

Ems - stop reading about my dross existence and step away from the computer!

Farmgirl.. I promise to respond to your mail sometime soon..
