That is the thing. If you truely fall in love with someone then you love everything about them, even their imperfections. Without those imperfections they wouldn't be who they are and you wouldn't love them.
I think a better definition of soul mate is someone who you can fall totally in love with. Quite often your soul mate complements you in many ways, making them quite different from you.
