Let me gripe about socks for a second. I have two socks on today, one of which is trying to slip off my foot while still in my shoe - an admirable aspiration for a sock but damn annoying to me. My socks are mismatched, hence only one of them sucks. This happens quite often as I have lots of black socks that pretty much look the same but have different qualities. The one thats trying to slip off my foot every time I walk is an expensive yuppy brand. I thought they would be good cause they were more expensive but it is only an illusion of looks. They wear out faster and don't like living on your feet (which is fair enough I guess once you get to know my feet!).

So with that out of the way I have heard rumour from my boss that we're getting a little envelope this afternoon pertaining to increased payments of money, my blackmail is finally paying off...

And so the day has passed. I had a bit of work on and managed to finish off one job nicely and get through quite a bit of another job but the whole day I was excited/nervous and hanging out to find out what my annual pay rise was. And it never came. I went and asked admin at 5pm and they said they were still working on it. Arrggghhhh... I'd been waiting all day and still no release. Its kind of like when you're hanging out to find out your exam results, you know you almost definitly passed but you want to find out for sure and see how much you passed by. Well I rang up a few bars to see if they were suitable/available for my 25th. There wasn't much going, the best one (that was free) was already booked, but I will see what I can do.

At home played cards with Gerry, then we went out to the Grand to check out their function room and play some pool. That was fun. I need to play a little more pool and get a little better though. The function room at the Grand looked a little big and not quite my thing, specially since it was going to cost $250 to hire it out. A possibility sprung up though which I shall investigate. So now I'm at home making home movies to create a web page invite. I'm real self concious about speaking out loud in the house so they're not that good yet. I wasn't really cut out to be an actor. I wrote up a list of friends and its looking around the 60-70 mark which isn't too bad and theres a possibility that I might take up Fee's idea of a masquerade party. I dismissed it at first as its not my kind of thing but found a venue that would suit it, more investigating is needed first though.

So I can sit up and wait till 12 and see how much money comes into my account at midnight and try and work out what I get paid, what is overtime (about $40 this month), what is expense claims and what is my pay rise. Too much hard work, I'll be going to bed and they better give me a little envelope at work in the morning. I might take my water pistol to work, just incase they don't..
