The Book of Ashes
Legend in his own mind, creator of all you see here, he walks this Earth on the path of the becoming.

Quotes 1:21AM
""Sometimes one must take a fall before one realises they have legs.""
- The Book of Ashes (passage 15.08.01)
Moral of the story, you learn to be thankful for what you've got only when you miss it. It all comes back to what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
WARNING! CRC error (Cyclic Redundancy Check) detected above - Geek joke, I doubt many people will get that, but it appeals to my sense of intellectual funny.
It is funny how fake information in your favour can make your day if you believe it to be true. This leads to the question, should you or would you live a lie if it made your life happier
Why I am writing diary entries 7:30AM
Wednesday went surprisingly well. I wore a good shiny shirt which probably made me feel good. I had lots of potentially stressful events but I didn't worry about any of them and everything seemed to sort itself out sweet. It was bitter cold again today, it wanted to snow but it was holding back just to piss me off. Dan said he got snow in Queenstown the lucky bastard. I can't wait for the day that I can hop on a plane and go where its snowing, just like that.
Ok so let me state here why I am writing this stuff. It is for three reasons in this order of importance....
1. To provide useful knowledge and insight to the world. I dream of the day that the Book of Ashes is mandatory reading in schools. Knowing my luck it will be once I'm dead and in English where they try to work out how I was feeling and what I meant by that particular passage - suck.
2. To provide a history of my life and enough information that people may get an inkling of who I was through psycho analysis. These are my memoirs baby.
3. To serve as an emotional and creative outlet. I get things off my chest by (abstractly) writing about them here. I also exercise the brain by creative writing.
In trying to put across knowledge I will create a few little categories to help sort it all out. These will be things like, tips for the unwary (just me letting you know of stupid things I've done that you don't want to do), image consultant tips (how to look cool in life and know it), quotes (just good little sayings I make up) and general other such as knowledge and insights I have to share. Right, nuff said on that topic, lets revist earlier today...
I was walking up some steps on my way to a client site when I thought about exactly how I walk up steps and realised this would be a good fact to share with people. Now I tend to bound up about 2 or 3 steps at a time as I have long legs and don't like to dawdle (is that a word?). But anyway heres a little insight I realised a couple of years back that I worked out by myself even though countless others probably know about it. It can be best explained a little like this...
We all know that when you throw a ball up in the air theres that instant in time where its hung, suspended in the air at the top of its flight, with no velocity in any direction and totally weightless. Then gravity kicks in and it falls down into your hand again. Now the same goes when you jump up. For a split second you're hanging there, totally weightless at the top of your jump, before you fall downwards again. Now if you're bounding up steps you can time it so that the top of your jump coincides exactly with your foot just touching the next step. Then after your second of weightlessness you come to rest with minimum impact on the next step. Usually people bound up steps going clomp, clomp, clomp, as they come crashing down on each step. This way it can be silent (your weight will still have to come down on the step so if its a creaking step it will still creak) with virtually no impact. This is great and makes you look really smooth and agile. It takes a bit of practise but once you've got it right you won't want to do anything else
Haven't drunk for one month 7:37AM
Ok its now the 15th, exactly one month after my birthday and I haven't drunk in all that time. But man has it been a long month. So anyway I've got sick of that, I am having my first drink right now, a baileys and milk. Just one quiet drink tonight but its broken the cycle. I will now try a cut down period of maybe a month. This means only 2 or 3 drinks per night at max. Shouldn't be too hard right. Not drinking at all is just a pain in the arse and an inconvenience, not to mention sometimes embarrasing. Anyway enough of that. I'll let you know if I drink too much.
How to make friends and influence people.
Create a web site and you have the power to influence people. Do lots of baking and share it around and you make friends. Its that simple. Kelly gave me a container of afghan biscuits today that she had baked. Damian was complaining that she had given the last ones away but I guess she appreciated the baking I gave them. I definitly enjoyed their biscuits - YUM
Shakeseare quote 10:03AM
""The moon's an arrant thief,
And her pale fire she snatchs from the sun.""
- Shakespeare, Timon of Athens
This is legendary, I got it from the dictionary word a day thing which was giving an example of the word ARRANT. I will put here in writing that within a year I shall be able to make cool stuff like this up on the spot. Whether I will be able to or not I don't know but I will try my best. There are three things to do. One for the next year continue learning two new words a day, as I am doing now, only then shall I have an extensive enough vocabulary to be able to tackle this challenge. Two read up on Shakespeare so that I can learn his style. Speaking enough of one language will learn you it. And thirdly practise speaking out loud and encouraging my creative speach. This I vow to thee, one years hence I shall speak like he.
