The competition of the abs 8:30AM
Gerry and I have a competion on at the moment. It is to see who can see there abs first. I've never seen mine. My stomach used to be perfectly flat at uni, but at that stage I couldn't put on any fat, even if I tired, but neither did I have any muscle so there were no abs. Now I've been doing a few situps and theres a bit of muscle under there but also a cm or two of fat covering it. Problem is my body maintains a very tight equilibrium. Its very hard for me to put on weight and equally as hard to loose it. I ate McDonalds when I started work about 3-4 times a week and after a few months put on a little weight, maybe 1kg that year. I think I could do worse now if I tried. Anyway I haven't lost any weight since 1st year uni which is about 6-7 years ago now and that was when I was sick for a week and spewing. Having said that I haven't spewed from natural sickness since then either so that makes me feel quite healthy. Anyway it looks like if I want to tone the stomach I'm going to have to do it slowly over time, continue the running and exercise and eat good food. I'm kinda doing this stuff now so thats good.
Well gotta get back to the vid. Todays another glorious day and I'm going to make the most of it. Cya's

A day blading. Blading in town with Fi. 8:30AM
The sun shone yesterday and although a few clouds came out and being Wellington, there was a little wind, it was still a glorious day. I went for a big blade from one end of Oriental parade round to Ngnarange gorge and back. This took about an hour and was great. I got home and read my book in the sun then went and borrowed the neighbours couch in the sun. It was great.
Gerry got home and wanted to go for a blade straight away while there was still sun so she took off and I waited round for the others. Amy then Fi came home and we got them organised and took off after Gerry. Going down the hill into town we usually go down the hill a little way then spin in a circle to a stand still then continue doing this down the hill. Amy couldn't do this though so from roller hockey practise we thought up another idea. I took Fi's hands and braked behind her while she just rolled down the hill. This worked sweet so Amy came onto my side and leant on me. Two peoples weight though was almost to much so I tried to stop and we looked a bit wobbly. All the people on the street were cracking up laughing cause as we must have looked really funny, this big group of unco looking people trying to get down the hill. So since Fi could get down by herself, I went behind Amy and held her hands behind her and braked and we went down the hill like that. It was quite effective but probably was wearing my wheels out faster.
We bladed round Oriental parade for a while and I had a bit of extra energy so was pushing people around. I tried pushing all three girls but that was quite exhausting. Then we got further round and wanted to go into town but Amy and Gerry were complaining about injuries so Fi and I went in by ourselves.
Town is cool. There was not too many people and blading along the streets or through parks is great. We did time trials round a little square, went through the train station, bladed down the main street, and found our way up onto a big empty concrete thing by the stadium. At the end of that we found a spiral concrete bit that the cars drove up. That was cool, you could hoon down it, round and round and round, then quickly climb up the stairs next to it and do it again. We decided we had to bring the other girls back here. This blade ended up being 2 hours and coupled with my other blade I did 3 hours blading all up.
After I got home I found that Gerry had a friend to stay. I had got out a video, ""Dude, wheres my car?"" but that was cool, I'm going to watch it now, this morning. So I cooked the best ever, chicken, bacon & avacardo burgers with mushrooms, onions, tomato, letuce & cheese. Yummmm... I was pretty hungry though after all that blading. I read my book while Gerry and her friend played scrabble then went for a run to the end of the street then up Hawker street as well. Then I slept.
Twin towers got hit by a plane... 10:57AM
The video was good senseless humour in the style of Bill & Ted's excellent adventure. It did me well for the morning. I came to work and started hearing about the World Trade Centre having been hit by a plane, after watching the footage of it I was amazed, what kaos, what destruction and for what purpose? How could someone justify killing so many people just to prove their point, I do not understand. I was quite impressed that a building could withstand a plane crashing into it and still stay up, at least for a while. That in my books is good solid construction. So now I'm almost ready for sleep and I wonder what will I wake to tomorrow, more destruction? Who knows?
So I did a little shopping on the way to work. I saw Vance Vivian were having a sale and checked it out. They had good discounts, like from $140 to $90, not bad. I found the coolest top, it was a black, long sleeved top with a kind of priest colar, that went round your neck and had a button at the front. It would have been my coolest shirt I'd ever owned and down from $160 to $95 it was a bargain but it was XL and was a bit baggy. It was all that was left so I was denied this excellence. I brought another top instead which was not nearly as cool. I am now 3 pieces of clothing behind in my buying.
After work I came home and pulled our couch around to face the sun and sunbathed while I read my book. It was great. Then I went to Tammy's work and jogged from there to the end of Oriental Parade and back to her work again (shes on Lambton key). This was I think my longest run in my life, about 45mins worth. It was great. I am now officially a better runner than Tammy. I ran home after that as well.
So I got home and was cooking tea, cutting up some carrots, when one rolled on me. The knife slid onto the end of my second finger on my left hand slicing it quite deeply. Bastard. I have this tendancy to not care for my body and sometimes hurt it like this. So I went and plastered it, but it was bleeding a bit so I covered it in paper towel as well. Its now quite hard to type with the paper towel sticking out a bit.
Ok so I'm going to sleep now, or read, whichever is more procrastinating. I think sleeping is something I have to do but reading is not, so I'll procrastinate and read rather than sleep. Just jumping topics here, Gerry thinks I need to find a girlfriend who can massage my arms. This she thinks is the key to fixing my OOS problem. I don't think it would hurt. Any volunteers? Goodnight...
