The black magic that is coke 11:32AM

Black magic courses through my veins, it pentrates the fatty layers of the brain and stimulates neurons to fire. It matters not that the firings are random, at the macro scale it results in enhanced creativity. This magic sits in a cup and bubbles beside me, it is cold as all ice, it is sweet to temp even the purest soul, it is known to the adepts as coke. Let me give a small example of the creative output it stimulated within 5 minutes of drinking it...

These pieces you can loose,

and sometimes you can find.

They do not join together,

and their values only in thy mind.

Ok before we start I have two words for the werry...

1. Don't leave a bottle of coke in the freezer for 4 hours, this is way too much time for it to just cool off. Luckily the plastic 2.25 litre bottles seem to be able to contain the expanding ice.

2. Don't assume a mostly frozen bottle of coke will open like a normal one. It doesn't, it fizes up everywhere. Also when it gets blocked by ice, don't squeeze it. The fizz may have been building up behind the blockage and will spurt forth more fizz once unblocked.

A lot and not much has happened all at once this weekend. Lets begin with Friday...

Friday morning was non eventful. Lunch time I met up at Dockside for Damians fair well lunch. I had quite a few drinks and the food took ages to come so I started getting a little sleepy. Another note for the werry. Lambs fry is NOT fried lamb. Enough said, don't order it unless you know what it is and you like it. Kelly had the afternoon off so came and joined us around 2pm. We finished up around 3:30pm and went back to Damians. I headed home after that, had a quick feed and grabbed my camera (I'm glad I did as well, you'll see why soon) and headed back to work. Got side tracked talking to Fi & Gerry on the way there and ended up getting to work around 6pm. It is surprising how many people you will meet if you just stand on Courtney place for a while after work finishes

Work drinks, photocopying and the pre-fevah party. 11:50AM

Work drinks were work drinks. People hanging round and getting pissed. We had a few beers, played a little fooze ball and had a few more beers. By this time people were getting happy and Tammy & Crispin turned up, quite pissed from drinks at their work. It was about now that the photocopying began. I shouldn't name names but lets just say that a lot of breasts touched glass that night. Quote of the night, ""I've got white boobies! I've got white boobies!"". Her boobies kept coming out brown and everyone elses white till we realised it was her white bra that the photocopier was adjusting too. Take the bra off and wala! I've got white boobies! I think someone left a copy of someones boobies on one of the directors desks. I don't know if this was a good idea or not, we'll see on Monday I guess.

We stayed at work till about 11pm then decided to head out to Expressaholic for a coffee. Tammy was almost passed out on the couch at work, she was waaaahasssted. Indeed she paid the price for it the next day as she still looked seedy at the pre-fevah party the next night and wasn't at all interested in drinking. We had a coffee then I headed home. My time was done and I required sleep as I believed I was looking after my cousins the next day, but I hadn't yet had confirmation from my sister yet.

Saturday was also uneventful in the extreme. I don't think I did anything. Robyn said she had been slack organising to look after the cousies so maybe tomorrow. Gerry was off tramping that day so I think I lay in the sun and read my book. That night we went to a pre-fevah party that a flat of two guys and a girl had put on. It was funny but Damian invited me to this as it was one of Kelly's friends who flatted there (who I'd met before) and Gerry also invited me to this as it was her brothers friends who also flatted there. Small world. There ended up being about 10 people I knew there. Pretty cool.

The party was most impressive. They had a cover charge of $5 to cover costs, and once in your senses were subjected to the most coolness ever before seen in a flat. They had bouncers, a gate of balloons to walk under, a couple of UV chill out rooms, a huge chupa chup and free lolly pops (yay me), a cool changing computer pattern thing projected in one room on the wall so that you danced in front of it and you saw your shadow on it, a dark black stairway with glow in the dark arrows going up and down it, and a deck with kind of army camoflauge over top and DJ's down one end, strobe lights flashing and a smoke machine. Man it rocked. I hadn't drunk anything so was quite sober but did a little dancing and talked to people I knew. Some friends gave me a few beers so had those and danced some more. Saw Louise who is a hawkes bay chick and true to form she was pissed as. Hung round there till 1am and generally had a good time then came home with Gerry

Ran up Mt Vic in 10mins 45secs. 11:55AM

That leaves us with Sunday. I don't really remember doing anything today. Thats right I went to the movies with Martin. We went and saw ""Fast and Furious"". This is definitly a guy movie with tough guys and fast cars. I quite enjoyed it, not cause it was a great movie but because it filled in my afternoon nicely and thats exactly what I wanted. Came home and Gerry was looking a little tired still even though she slept in till almost 12. She lacks the stay-up-late gene that compels me to work well into the midnight hours most nights. This seems to be when I work best, I know not why. So I baked some more pinwheel scones (I did my first lot on Saturday from a recipe I found on the web). They were a bit more refined but I found they didn't cook so well in the middle. I'll perfect this technique though till I am the best pinwheel scone maker in the world, second only to my mum of course! The first time I made the mistake of putting the hot glass dish on the cold wet bench, and cracked the dish in half. Damn... I've learnt that lesson (again). Gerry cooked a roast duck tonight and her brother came around. I was in a blob out mode, not really much for conversation so we just watched the star wars, episode I movie. It was pretty cool. Now its late and I'm running on a little coke. Things need to be done this week, or they'll never be done, so I should be busy.

One other thing to note is that I just ran up the hill tonight in 10mins 45secs. This was a real good run on my behalf and so it looks like 10mins is about my upper limit on time, it may only just be possible for me. I don't think I'll be beating God's time anytime soon. Maybe once I get enhanced limbs... I'll leave that one for another day.

That reminds me, Friday night we were sitting round and I said to Crispin, You know what this night could turn into? He said what? I said Like the night of Jim's leaving. This night we ended up at a friends place and everyone started getting topless, it was pretty crazy. I refrained from the craziness but lived to remember everyone elses... but again thats another story in itself. This night I was right. Crispin ended up getting a little (very brief) topless action at reception. I wonder if Tammy remembers? Hehehe the memories..
