The Book of Ashes

Legend in his own mind, creator of all you see here, he walks this Earth on the path of the becoming.

Still cold, talking about the server a bit more... 11:02AM

Today actually tried to pretend it was going to be warm. The sun was out for a while, it looked like it was going to be nice then those crappy dark grey clouds rolled in and it started to rain.

On one hand it was good though. I got through a few tasks that had been bugging me. I also made a quick trip home at lunch time to loosen up the security on the webserver so that it allowed people through to see the website. I think we're all back on track now. Still haven't had time to put up Crispy's photos yet though. I've had enough of going to be after midnight (its friggin hard getting out of bed on these cold mornings, I set my alarm at 10 to 7 and it takes me 40 mins lying in before I get up and then my clock is 5 mins fast so I have an extra 5 mins (it used to be 15 mins fast last winter)). Suck is the cold and the lack of power for heating the cold.

The new guy has moved in downstairs at TT. He's taken up the little corner office which you have to walk past every time you go to the lifts. He sits there looking at everyone who goes past expectantly as if they might be there to bring him business. His clothes are sharp, he takes pride in his appearance still, he sits up straight and he fiddles with his new staplers and pens. This won't last. You can picture him already, a year, two, down the track and he's sitting there, coffee on his desk, staining his papers, tie just a little loose and shirt not as ironed as it once used to be. He doesn't even bother looking up at those that walk past any more, instead he browses the Dilbert pages as he checks his emails in the back ground. This is the highlight of his day now.

Damn I'm looking forward to Friday and finishing this week/month. Still have to see the Matrix Reloaded. Time is of the essence and I don't have enough essence. Luckily this extra day they've tagged onto this weekend will allow me to catch up altho I have kinda stupidly volunteered my cell phone number for Monday afternoon on-call duties. Suck. Bet I get a call too. Murphy's law.

So 30% of users of this site have masturbated at work. Mmmmmm... not me, couldn't do it. Interesting tho, higher than I would have thought. So anyhows what're we going to do to these bastard hackers? Send in your ideas now.

FARMGIRL - That advice is only for those who are not good enough and have to do it the hard way (eg involing lots of hard work). If you're good enough you'll make money by inventing something :P

DAMIAN - You may be right, little coverage now, no one cares right? So what are YOU doing to help?

CRISPY - You say you have time to write up now (and by the way don't say you were made to wear the drag, we all know you loved it!) that you have left work? I think its cause you have no woman to worry about. The single man is the free man. (I'm going to get in trouble for saying that).

KRAMER - Where are you? Are you still alive?

EVERYONE ELSE - Hi
