A storms a comin! 1:56AM

Its been a while since I fell this far down the list. I could say I've been busy, I've been sick and I've been slack but really none of these excuses are good enough for you guys. Maybe it was the fact that I caught up with Dan over the weekend and some of his slackness at writing up rubbed off on me. Then again who knows these things?

So Wednesday I started getting a little bit of a runny nose and a tickly throat. Thursday I took off work with Bonnie. We were both feeling pretty crap. Today I am getting better. Still a runny nose and tickly throat but mostly operational. I've come to work in casual clothes and am just doing internal jobs, no client contact. Its not a good look when you're rubbing your nose on your suits sleaves cause you've run out of tissues. Bonnie is still home sick. She is a sick, sick girl.

So firstly work. I've been very busy back at TT. Lots of projects on and lots of interesting stuff to do. I've written some .NET internet pages, written and taken a course in Crystal Reports for 5 people at NZPost that I'd never met before and all the usual stuff. I had my appraisal review today. It went pretty well. They seem to be happy having me back (specially since they have lots of work) and I seem to have got (mostly) straight back into it.

""A storm is coming, a once in 25 years storm, bringing snow, rain, hail and ice to those places that don't usually get it...""

Or so the papers say. Apparently its meant to snow down to 200 meters all around Wellington. Wicked I say, but I'll believe it when I see it. Can't wait actually. Party at Tom's this weekend could be an indoor-outdoor-snow theme. Cool.

So lunch today was at subway. Heres a snippet of conversation from behind me in the massive (but fast moving) queue...

Her: What size are you getting?

Him: (jokingly) 5 inch, I can't eat the whole 6 inch.

Her: Is that the big one? What sizes are there?

Him: No I'm getting the six inch.

Her: Is that a foot?

Him: No...

(conversation continues)

Service girl: Are you guys together? (as in are your orders together)

Her: Ummm...(are we an item?)

Service girl: Are you together?

Her: We're...(not sure what to say)

Service girl: (to the guy) Are you together?

Him: Yeah

Her: No... thats not what she means.

Him: Its too complicated. I'll pay for both and we'll sort it out later...

Her: But...

Him: We'll sort it out later.

Funny, had to turn away to grin a couple of times. Some people need to take courses on how to order takeaways and what possible tricky questions may come up.

Quote of the year: Do you want to Biggie that

The storm is coming 5:06AM

I can see the big grey clouds coming in now... ohhhh
