The storm and Tom's party. 8:53AM
All right, so we got the hail and almost sleet, it was cold as arse and it rained a lot and I spent lots of that time in bed but it didn't snow. At least not in Wellington, or that I saw. A little bit disapointing but it was cold and there was snow on the Rimutuka's.
So Friday night after work it began to get cold. I headed home, picking up a nice hot curry on the way, and ate dinner over an excellent episode of Seinfeld. After that it was a quick catch up with Martin then off to Bonnies to watch DVDs under a duvet.
Saturday was a big sleep in. More DVDs then I ventured out to buy The Matrix. I now own 10 DVDs which I am quite happy about, even tho 7 of them are loaned out. Now you understand why I have a sign out card, so I don't forget who's got what... aye Farmgirl! She is currently my most outstanding loanee, having borrowed The Many Coloured Land over a year ago!
Saturday night I decided to head round to my Uncle and Auntie's joint birthday celebrations at the Realm. Tom's BBQ part of his party had been canceled as he chose the coldest fucking day of the year to have it on. Hence the party was starting a little later. Brother Tom came round and we taxied out to the Realm.
It was warm there and there was bubbly. It was also dress up, a 70s theme. I wasn't told tho so I didn't come in costume. Everyone was looking pretty funky with long hair, afros and flowery dresses everywhere. Bonnie got interogated by the mass of family there (only a small proportion of the whole thing) and we freakily met one of her aunties there. It was a pretty cool party but the bubbly went to my head as I was a little sick still and the body wasn't up to its mass intake processing abilities.
Then, with a quick booze stop at my place, we were off to Tom's party. We entered to a mass of people, dancing away to some phat DJ beats. It was pretty cool. We cracked open a beer and did the rounds. The party was in full swing and fairly rocking, people dancing in front of the DJ and people drinking all round the kitchen. Caught up with Farmgirl there who I hadn't seen in ages. She got into a mass discussion of morals with Dodgy Steve and that was the end of her :) After a while I started to feel a little crook. I stopped drinking but still wasn't up to it and Bonnie wasn't feeling too hot either so we headed off around midnight (before we turned into pumpkins) with Sarah.
Sleep, sweet blisful sleep. It can upon us, restored us and set us upright upon our feet to face another day. Sunday was good. Slept in nicely in a warm bed. Had a brief catch up with Farmgirl again then headed out to Oriental bay for a walk. The day was beautiful as it always is after a storm. It was clear sunny and cool. We bumped into the partiers, Tom, Jackie, Brook, Leon and Sam having donuts and coffees by the beach and stopped for a chat with them. Then it was off to the super market for a shop then home for a massive roast and x-files on DVD.
Then sleep, wake and here I am today
