New Years 12:50PM
Happy New Years Everyone!
So my holidays have been pretty quiet. I spent most of the time in Wellington, catching up on things that needed doing. I sorely need the break. Now I've had it and I'm straight back into work.
New Years was spent up at Martins place with Bonnie, Bev & Jo and Martin. We had a wicked feed of a BBQ then into the drinks. Martin was practising his Daquiri making skills while we were practising our Daquiri drinking skills. We stayed up to see the sunrise but went home around 5 in the morning as the sky had clouded over. I was pretty buggered the next day but not too hung over.
This last weekend Bonnie and I drove up to the family Marae in Palmy. We had planned to do some camping out near the Pinacles but the weather hadn't been stable enough so we camped out next to the Marae. My uncles had been working hard out there and its now looking pretty good with a flash toilet and bathroom. It even has hot water (heated from a fire place). I did a hard days labour there (better than any gym), lifting and shifting wood between locations. The first lot was alright, it was normal sized wood. The second lot was huge chunks (I could just get my arms around some) that were a bastard to lift. None-the-less we did a mamoth effort and shifted heaps. That night we had another BBQ and three bonfires. It was also the day of my first tractor drive and my first river swim in years. All up, good work.
On other fronts I have improved The Indexer so that it can now output HTML pages with thumbnails of events. This will come in very handy for people if they want a preview of all the photos I have of them!
Now back to work..
