Robyn & Darren's wedding 11:15AM

It was an awesome day. The wedding was at the church in Mt Vic (the old monastery on Hawker st). When we went in the weather was overcast and windy and when we came out there wasn't a cloud in the sky. The reception was at the Marae in Island bay. This is a really interesting building with multiple stories and looks like its been built apon ad hoc. They had Twinset playing on the lawn with plenty of bubbly, wine and beer. I managed to drink responsibly until some point near midnight where I lost it. Thats when the music stopped, most people left and the keg stands began. Lets just say I was not able to do much the next day. Worst hangover in years. But great night

First week of work. 11:25AM

Now its a week later. I've caught up on my sleep (after having to drive Eddie to the airport at 6am on Tuesday morning) and all the family have headed home. Work has been busy, straight back into it. Luckily we have a long weekend this weekend with Wellington Anniversary day. Bonnie and I are currently catching up on housework, we have bought a few new light shades for the house and I'm trying to flatten a square section of the lawn for placing a vege garden on it (quite a bit of work). So a few thoughts have crossed my mine this week...

How come you can immerse yourself in a hot bath and feel relaxed and comfortable yet you hop in bed when its warm and you feel stuffy and too hot (and you know its not as hot as the hot bath was)?

A couple of problems in the world today, many places are facing a shortage of water as they irrigate their crops yet we have the worry of rising sea levels. Too much water vs a shortage of water?

Secondly we have the issue of too much carbon dioxide in the air causing global warming yet we have a strong demand for wood (especially hard woods). Carbon dioxide can be transformed into wood. Currently people are looking into genetically engineering plants to capture (and store) carbon to extract it from the air (currently plants capture it as they grow but them decompose relatively quickly releasing it back into the atmosphere).

Why do we not genetically engineer plants to store more carbon more quickly? Surely we can improve 10 fold on whats there currenty like we have with wild fruits to todays domestic fruits.

Right lots to do today, currently a beautiful sunny day. Looking to buy a new car (and then sell the old one).

Did I mention I've had an alcohol free week? First in a long time. Feels good. Currently got blisters on my hands from digging up my lawn. It needed flattening (at least a small section of it did).
