It must be hard being a worm. You can't see anything around you for starters. Its damp and its cold and you occassionally bump into rocks. Theres not really a lot to do as a worm.
I was wondering what it would be like to be a worm. How would you meet other worms to reproduce? Its not like you can see where they are or you have some kind of worm call to attract members of the opposite sex (or you can go down to the pub to pick them up). No, it must be hard. I reckon when a worm accidently bumps into another worm they just get it on cause how often do worms find each other in the dirt? It can't be that often. Guess it depends on the dirt. Maybe if you lived in a worm farm life would be good.
Then theres the outer limits. Pop your head up through the soft green stuff and a fluffy beast with a huge beak swoops down on you and bites it off. Its not as if you ever did anything to deserve that. You just wanted to see what was up there, if it was any warmer or dryer. But its dangerous up there.
Also I imagine the diet is pretty monotomous. Dirt for breakfast, dirt for lunch and dirt for dinner. I guess what I'm trying to say really is that I'm glad I'm not a worm.
Having said that I built my vege garden today. Populated it with dirt and planted a few little seeds. A few worms died in the making of this garden. Big, long, fat worms that oozed white goo. I don't know what they tasted like.
