Easter weekend 5:02PM
Last weekend was Easter. The good old 4 day weekend. We had a busy one planned. Wednesday night we shifted everything out of the bedroom in preparation for painting it. Thursday night and Friday were spent sanding and preparing the room and putting on the first coat of paint on the ceiling. Saturday was Tom's birthday so we headed round to his for brunch with a couple of riggers of Emerson's Bookbinder. So at around 10:30am I found myself drinking beer and standing over the barby. All good. Cheers Jacqui and Tom for putting that on. Then some time around 2pm we headed down to the Basin Reserve for Summerset. Of course all of us now owning properties we marvelled at how excellent the grass was there (not a single weed to be seen on the entire field). Its impossible to get lawn like that at home (without quiting your day job). Summerset was cool. Got to see Rhombus, The Black Seeds and Shapeshifter. It was a long day though, having started drinking at 10am its hard to keep going through till midnight. But all in all a good day.
Sunday was a bit of a sleep in then straight back into the painting. There were a few issues but mostly it all went well. Monday same again. We got the final coat on the rooms that night so we were still in the spare bedroom again but Tuesday after work we cleaned everything up and moved all our stuff back into the room. It was all good. A brand new room now :)
Wednesday night we went out for some pool with work. Good night out and dinner at One Red Dog as well.
Thursday was the final of outdoor ultimate frisbee. We have a two week break now then into indoors which will rock as it is at the Karori rec centre (at the end of our street) so no more finding my way out to Newtown after work then all the way home again.
So the weathers been awesome during the week. It got crap on the weekend but we got some much needed rain. The garden is going off. We are now harvesting lettuce and spinach and have carrots almost ready and pumpkins and brocolli on the way also. Its great to be able to get stuff from your own garden.
