Job Hunting
The days go so fast. Might have something to do with the big sleep ins. I must be over jet lag now, because I am staying awake until 11pm and waking up later in the morning. Now I can get on with the real stuff
Yesterday Tammy and I went for a run around St James and Green parks. It was like a zoo. So much wildlife. We didn't want to run too much because we were afraid to upset the animals. A very friendly squirrel wanted my goodies that I didn't have.
Last weekend I stayed at Mike's place near Canary Wharf. He has just got engaged to Anna, so we had a few drinks out. That place is too new and posh for itself. I hoped to drink my first english beer onsite. They didn't have any. Went to the next place. They didn't have any either. Only ""International"" beers such as Stella and Heinekin. Screw.
Soho is a cute area. Tiny streets that don't feel real, but people still rush down them in trucks and bikes. There are a couple of strip clubs down the road that have girls outside from 11am enticing customers in. They look so young. Seen plenty of gay activity, including the two guys at the pub yesterday telling each other how tight they looked.
Administration 3:50AM
Administration
My travel book is written by english. It regularly tells it's readers to be patient when working with beauracracies in other countries as they ""...don't have as developed infrastructure as we do..."". Sheesh. Try being a ""foreigner"" in London. Painfully beauracracy here too!
I have discussed tax options and decided that Limited Company can work for me if I get contract work. If I can get contract work. If I ca get contract work. All except one job I've seen for me so far is full time. Too bad. I'm here for a while.
Food 3:54AM
Food
Food is really cheap here. Once I earn pounds of course. Right now it is really expensive. A cheap dinner still costs $25, but I can see how it will be easy to eat out lots when I am employed!
We went shopping at the Organic shop around the corner, and found that Madonna has decided to shop there too. She must like the honey yoghurt too.
Haven't seen brick lane yet, but there sure are lots of Indian restaurants. Lots of pubs too. Every street, every corner.
Shopping 3:58AM
Shopping
There is plenty of it to be found. Most shops have small fronts to them (due to the old brick buildings being constructed that way), but once you get inside you find many floors of shopping. I haven't seen any shops that don't have at least two floors. And massive changing room logistics. A whole chapter of the shop is devoted to changing rooms for hundreds of people. If you like busy you will definitely get on with it here. Sooooo busy. And that is just during weekdays. It gets heavier on the weekends.
I am deliberately not looking at clothes myself. I might be too tempted.
Travel 4:00AM
Travel
There is so much tube. So many ways to get from A to B. We have already experienced break downs in trains and escelators though. Can see why people curse about commuting by tube. I've walked so much over ground that it's not necessary a lot of the time.

Communication
I have given up on trying to get a cell phone at the moment. I found the best deal available and got my hopes dashed because vodafone wouldn't sell it to me unless I had three months proof of address here. !!
Other places will sell me the phone without an address if I give them a 200 pound deposit (I haven't found the pound symbol on this keyboard yet).
I will stick with Joachim's loaner sim card in Tammy's phone for a while and deal with it later.
