Hey guys, how was the 100 night?

We went to Berlin for the weekend. Just cause. Pretty cool that we can make semi-last-minute decisions and just do it. The flights were '12 each way. Damn cheap. Flew with Ryan air.

Berlin is so much more spacious than London. The trains are wider. The roads are wider. The foodpaths are wider. The buildings are further apart. It felt ~fresh (still smells a bit like London at times though).

We crammed so many things into one weekend, and I can't remember them all. Nor can I remember the names of places I know I went to. I didn't know any German. Not even a little one over there.

Some of the highlights:




• Pergamom - a museum that contains parts of the ancient cites of Pergamom (Greece) and Babylon. Very cool. I didn't get the time wanted there, but still very very cool. They had reconstructed the gates to Babylon in full scale, using real sections that have been excavated. Same with Pergamom - they have reconstructed a temple in full scale with the status describing ""The battle of the gods against the giants"", which tells the story of when Persia tried to invade Greece and failed.
  
• Walking tour of Belin was a four hour walk around the central parts of Berlin. Heaps of buildings are fully sprayed with bullet holes from when the Russians invaded in World War II.
• We played with bits of the old Berlin wall, and walked through Brandenburger Tor (gate) that was for 20 years enclosed within the (two) berlin walls. Did you know that the wall was secretly put up overnight all in one go?
  
• Ate and drank. Didn't get to try any wurst though.
  
• Looked at the 1938 Olympic stadium that Hilter had built.
  
• So many other things I can't recall.
  

Now we are back in London, back at work. But not for long, because this weekend we go to Paris. I have purchased a phrase book so I can attempt to speak to the locals. Yeah good luck.
