Absolute zero 4:45AM

It's cold in these here states. In Minesota they got hit by -34F temperatures. In New York today, it's not so cold, but the high tomorrow is -6C. I'm looking down on the Public Library, covered in snow and thinking about that movie "The Day After Tomorrow", where they all huddle inside the library for warmth, and burn the books.

It's a public holiday for everyone except Baker Robbins today, so I feel a little hard done by having to come in. On top of that I have a little sniffle. Uh oh. Haven't had the flu for years and I'm not ready for it right now.

Liberty and Justice for all 6:39AM

On Sunday I made it to Liberty Island. Unfortunately the statue is not open to public at the moment. The pedestal is, but I just can't seem to get out of bed early enough to get the limited tickets. That is, before lunch time. I took photos of liberty's butt though. That made my day. I also checked out Wall street. Nothing special there, so I went to China town instead. Well, I love lots of things asian, so I had a great time. Did the usual tourist traps - bought a dodgy DVD and had a chinese FEAST.

I get the feeling that Americans don't like the Chinese. I asked one of the natives about this, and they claimed they didn't like communists. I think they are afraid that China will take over the world soon. I think they will too, but I think I'll just learn Mandarin in preparation.
