shit that last entry was a biggy! well my holiday has been awesome so far and doesn't show any signs of changing. having a ball!

started off in Taupo on the 28th where me and meads stayed with yancy and kali and their american family who meads met when she was over there in 2000. they'd hired a house bout 5 mins walk from central taupo which was sooo convenient. went out both nights and got entirely sloshed. heaps of people we knew there and lots we didn't, but got to know! great times! got kinda sick of the way americans can be a bit over the top tho. got a bit much after the car trip up to taupo with kali and yancy then 2 days of it. oh well, was interesting.

then on the 30th i drove up to waihi beach to meet up with tit and yvette and bam and the rest of the crowd from vic uni. this place is amazing. exactly how i'd imagined a new zealand beach bach and surrounding town was supposed to be. it's such a quiet little settlement with an awesome beach and few shops. if i ever can afford a beach bach i'm gonna get one there. Bob's bach we were staying at was really cool and the company made the atmosphere. there were over 25 people staying there in total. me and my mates were in tents and the shed and on the back of a truck. we spent the days on the beach and the evenings eating fish and chips (man they have good fish!), playing pool at the local RSA (which was really cool), drinking and laxing out. we even had a quiz night! cheers to Hugh and Mike. vetty cut my hair on the beach too. best haircut i've ever had and it took like 10mins, no shampooing or styling or any of that bullshit. just dunked it in the sea to wet it then she cut it! nice!

i saw the new year in on the beach with everyone, then we all went for a swim. it was SOOOO cold! mine was more of a dip. and i definitely paid for it! i now have a mad cold!

so on the first i drove to the mount which is where i'm at now. my uncle and auntie and little cousin Megan left today to go up to auckland for a wedding. (btw some of us've come to the conclusion that monogamy is dead so i don't really see the point in marriage apart from it'll get you some more benefits as a student) so i'm housesitting here till they get back on sunday. nice place this. 5mins from the beach and 2mins from the shopping centre. would help if i had some moneys tho!

anyways.. just been hanging around here recovering from my cold. been down to the beach everyday so i'm sporting a bit of sunburn but hopefully it'll come out as a tan. megan is soo cute. she's 2 and a half and she calls me cousie kate. it's weird having this little person call hamish and helen, dad and mum. they never really seemed that much older than me well they're 33 i think but it's not that much. and now they're parents. can't see that happening to me for a looong time!

well this has become a monster entry too so i'll sign off
