hmm... well i'm in welly now! spent tuesday night at home. picked up a hitchhiker in Turangi on the way home from the mount. an israeli guy called uri. he stayed at our place that night then he came with me down here. he stayed at a back-packers last night and is hoping to head down south today. real interesting to talk to. a bit of a sifter. talking to people from other places always gives you perspective. he was telling us about how whenever you get on a bus in israel you check everyone out and their bags and stuff to see if anyone might have a bomb. suicide bombers have been quite common over the last year or so. and every house has a bomb shelter. they all do military service too. even the chicks do 2 years. fuck that. i would hate to live in such a tense environment. anyways going to go into town soon to get something to eat.
