i had the BEST weekend! i went straight from work to the airport and flew down to adelaide. sat next to this hot, rich army dude who bought me a drink and we chatted the whole way there. had to leave him at the airport but he has my number so who knows! got to murray bridge (bout an hour out of adelaide) around midnight and had bugger all sleep then got up early to be down at the track (the mitsubishi testing track) at Tailem Bend by 7.

Saturday went soo badly for the car. a couple of the guys had noticed on friday that it was slipping out of gear randomly and by mid-day saturday the gearbox was rooted. turned out the pnuematic gear shifter wasn't working properly and it ended up chewing all the teeth gear box. so saturday arvo it was decided that overnight the old engine and gearbox from the 2002 car was going to replace the current engine and gearbox. someones garage was kindly donated to be used as a workshop, thanks to the ticuna team, which was a godsend. the drivers for the big main event to take place the following day were put to bed by 11 and i got to bed about 1.30 after doing food, caffenated beverage and equipment runs throughout the night. most of the guys didn't get any sleep tho. in the morning the WA team woke up to our car running smoothly up and down the street at about 6am, with the new/old engine and gearbox and the pnuematic shifter fixed. sunday went really well and we cleaned up in the endurance event which was worth 300/1000 total points. i changed my flight to the monday morning instead of sunday night 'cos i really didn't want to miss the presentation ceremony. lucky i did, because we came 3rd overall and were the best australian team!! for such a crap day saturday that was an awesome result. check out our picture on the sae-a site. i'm the one in the light shirt because the boys shirts were heaps too big!

so sunday night we went out and got smashed. we all had a great night and everyone had heaps of fun. had to get up damn early though for the flight back to brisbane. i went straight from the airport to work and by about 2pm i was buggered. got home at about 5.30 and went straight to bed. got 12 hours sleep and got up for work again.
