well i had an excellent birthday. got heaps of phone calls throughout the day from family and friends then got real drunk sunday night. work monday was pretty painful!
yesterday at work was pretty cool though. we got to go out and have a look around a crude oil ship. crazy life those guys lead. there was people from all different nationalities on this ship, 22 crew in total. most of the guys worked 8 months on 2 months off. though the guy we spoke to, the top engineer, got 4 months on 4 months off. still that'd be a pretty shit lifestyle i reckon. we got to look in the engine room and at all the pumps and the generator that they have to power the ship. it was awesome. everything was soooo huge. my boss was complaining that he'd never even been on a crude ship and the two in my office, Rod and Kylie, were saying how on vac work they let you do all these cool things and suck you in to work there, then when you get employed as a graduate, they dump you with all the shit jobs!
