I'm sore and broken. Still another good weekend completed with me only a bit sunburned, and a bit bruised. Mike came up on Saturday from London with his friend Katy. We had a chill BBQ on Saturday night, followed by a rather lame attempt at going out for a night in Cambridge. On Sunday we rented a punt and headed up the river with Eric, our local 'guide'. Punting can be quite relaxing, and a very good way to spend Sunday afternoon. Floating slowly along on the flat and calm river through parks and farmland, sometimes in the sun, occasionally under lush green trees. We took along a mini picnic and refreshments of the alcoholic variety and as with most things around water.. somebody eventually decided that a swim was a good idea. After a while we'd all been in and out of the river several times, both voluntarily and forced (hence my bruises). Despite losing between us two pairs of sunglasses, '20, and part of my earring we were in excellent spirits when we hit the Japanese Noodle bar afterwards. A great way to spend a hot sunny Sunday afternoon.
Now all I need to do is work out how to make the weeks half as interesting as my weekends!
On another note how dodgy is this? The other day I was walking across the car park at work to get to another building, pushing my trolley piled high with boxed monitors and other new computer parts. When this guy leans out of his van and goes 'hey buddy'. I wander over expecting to have to give him directions.. since a lot of people get a bit lost. There are about 8 buildings, which in the usual UK style are all of an identical construction: orange brick. So I can see why people may get lost. But no this guy goes 'you wouldn't be interested in some TV's or Videos Recorders would ya?', pointing back to a rather large pile of TV and Video Recorders in the van behind him. Sketch.
Well now you can message me, so no excuses! If you read this and care can you give me some feedback! What do you want to see here, what do you not want to see?. Is there any persistent spelling mistakes or marginal grammar that irritates you? It probably isn't a typo, although my typing sucks my spelling is much worse.
Anyway I'll close on a music recommendation: The new Basement Jaxx album comes out here soon. It should be good. I like 50% of the singles off it so far. 'Romeo' (or what ever its called) has been played to death on Radio 1, and quite frankly I could do without it, but 'Get Me Off' (dodgy title huh?) is all good. It came free on the cover of Face magazine as a mini CD. If like 'Remedy' , their last album, I like only three quarters of the tracks it will still be a definite purchase.
