Off License and girls clothes 12:34PM

Sorry about this flood of postings but here in Cambridge I have free internet access so gotta make the most of it while its available.

So I didn't make back to London, infact I barely made it to bed. Yet again, as is the style here there was a very cool house party with DJs, big PA and thousands of people rammed into a tiny flat. Prior to that was the Chariots of Fire. Perhaps the coolest pub in Cambridge, fine house choons played out of a bass heavy setup, nice beer and a most un-english pub atmosphere. Not that I'm saying I don't like the traditional pubs. Just its cool when you feel like you're in a bar rather than your grandmothers living room. Perhaps its also that it reminds me of good Wellington bars that I miss here.

Actually while I'm on about thngs like this. I'll mention 'Off license' and a funny misunderstanding. In the UK they sell beer at dairies and in supermarkets. After 11pm, as is the stupid licensing laws here, they have to stop selling beer in bars (hence all the good house parties that seem to go on after closing time). Well I used to think off-license shops were allowed to stay open later (or not shut at all). I thought this was the whole idea with early closing of bars, so that at 11pm you roll into the 'offy' and get supplies to take home. But I discovered the other day in London they too are supposed to shut at 11pm. Its just the one on Mill Road, opposite the pub keeps selling for about 2 hours after that! I did wonder why they closed the shutters and had a member of staff standing at the door. Like a bouncer.. !

Also just to extend on the revelation last time I was up here - (that I've meet only Australsians in London, and never any English people) I met more French people last night at this party than in Paris the other weekend.

Yesterday had a very successful shopping trip. I went shopping with CHD for a top for Em. She has sent me a few good CDs and other pressies so to return the favour I'm sending her a cool Bench top and some goodies. Bench is very stylee UK label, sort of less casual skater wear, and the girls range is downright sexy. See if you send me pressies. I return (hint hint!)

Any way am I a freak for liking shopping for girls clothing? Don't get me wrong! I don't like wearing frilly under wear or anything (not that I have a problem with people who do.. but .. any way). Its just there is so much more decent stylee stuff made for girls then there is for guys! Girls look better wearing it, and on the whole its a heap cheaper. Like yesterday there was rack after rack of hooded swearshirts, tee-shirts and baggy jeans in the guys section. But all sorts of wicked stuff in the girls section? And was cool to accompained by a girl (who makes clothes for a living) to have an excuse to rat through the racks of girly outfits without looking like a pervert!

Still I suppose you've got to look on the bright side of things, that its good in a way that I don't have a girlfriend currently since I'd be spending up large on her clothing and be even more broke!
