So I'm now at a classic backpackers in Kanab, Utah. Further north from here is where all the Mormons hang out. (I wonder if they knock on each others doors?). So we showed up to this backpackers, we're the only people staying here, we have a room to ourselves and the lady said 'well if you guys want to check emails and stuff you can use this computer, on the house'
Theres a sign above it saying $1.50 for 15 minutes, so free is pretty sweet.
So last night we stayed in Moab. Incredible place, I was little bummed since Moab is like the world mecca for mountain biking and the place was swarming with people on bikes, and theres me with no bike. Still had a very cool drive into Moab from Winter Park last night, through desert, then the most incredible valley full of huge red rock spires and cliffs. This morning we checked out Arches national park, massive natural arches and more unbelievable rock formations. This afternoon we stopped in at Bryce Canyon national park. This is a baby version of the Grand canyon, and is made up of the same sedimentary rock that tops off the Grand canyon. Its all wickedly eroded into the most surreal landscape and is the most wild red/pink colour.
Tomorrow its off to Zion national park, probably stay here again tomorrow night and then its off to the Grand Canyon.
Driving an enormous 2002 Dodge Intrepid. Its massive and kind of space age looking.. we had rented a Mid size car, a Dodge Stratus, but they upgraded us for free when we rented it. The Car is only $20 per day, but the insurance is like $25 per day! Still when we are driving such huge distances its really cool to have a big comfy car with room for africa. Driving on the wrong side of the road is a little freaky, but after 5 months of living here and being driven around by people I'm a little more used to it than I was last time. Well okay I still drive like a wingnut around towns and really have to think about what I'm doing all the time
