Whos birthday? 12:04PM
Monday and tuesday were both bank holidays here. On monday the BBC were throwing some free parties in Hyde park, before the Queens concert, in the backyard of buckingham palace, was played on huge screens. They had set up a stage for each of the major continents. I met up with Mike and Jane, who'd come into london for the day. No mean feat considering the millions of people there. Thank god for text messages and cellphones. We wandered around the various stages before meeting up with Jono and his friends infront of the American stage. We then headed back to the Australasian stage for Che Fu. Who I must say was pretty impressive, especially since live hiphop can often be pretty lame. Marcus and someothers met us there and we divided into two groups: one to get beer and food, the other to bag a good spot on the gress infront of one of the massive screens.
Okay the Queens concert wasn't quite my things but still pretty cool atmosphere and a lot of people. For the night pubs that normally shut at 11 were allowed to stay open till 1am, and the tube that normally shut at about 12:30am/1am stayed open 24 hours.
Next day I watched some of the queens procession to St Pauls on telly before wandering into the center of town to watch the some of the other parades. Chaos. Total chaos. I really wanted to see the fly past of the concorde, but it was delayed so i gave up and went back to the hostel.
Then it was onto the train and up to Cambridge. Where I'm sitting currently infront of a Bens PC. Hmm free internet access at last.
Groupies 12:11PM
Okay for some reason Netscape sucks, and won't let me edit the last entry. So I'll just start another one then, and apologise for the mistake in the last one. Ben is a big Linux groupie, so he has 95 to humour people like me. However his IE install is a bit flaky and won't let Perhelion load at all.
The heaving masses 12:19PM
Whahey! 100 entries huh? With 1124 viewings thats 11.2 per page.
Taking into account that probably includes about 6-7 for me, since I find some of the many errors i make
and go back and correct them.. must mean that something like 4-5 other readings of my page take place. So welcome all the throngs of readers.
Okay so today I'm a little pissed off with the way things have panned out. But thats a long story I won't bore you with here.
Needless to say my faith in some peoples convictions is weaker than ever. I've just also appreciated how cool
somebodies attitude was a while back to a very similar situation. I suppose that serves to remind me
that sometimes things can work out better than anticipated. Which is good since whats just happened today
only manages to reinforce that things often turn out worse than I thought.
Okay I'm always told off for being cynical and pessimistic, which is exactly what that statement was,
so I'm going to attempt to find a brightside to this situation.
