As the dust settled in the musty tomb the raider looked around at what he had achieved. Ancient artifacts from a time long gone lay spread across the ground, broken up into their component parts, the most precious being placed in one pile and the least in another. The raider quickly got together reassembling the most precious parts until he had built from a simple P100, 24MB ram a powerful idol to please the Gods, a mighty P133 with 48MB of ram. He uttered the secret words and prayed to his Gods. The idol lit up and hummed, a sure sign that the Gods were pleased with what he had done. It was now twice as powerful as once it had been. No one would dare stand in his way now. The world was his, if only he could type faster...
Yes people, it is true. Much time has passed and my computer has been under surgery. It has now recovered (after some dodgy ram, a brain transplant and a few extra limbs added) and is fit and healthy enough to allow me to enter my diary entries. So to start with I guess I should fill in the gaps since last I wrote here...
Friday was a non event, left work straight after work, went home, went to bed. Saturday I repaired the idol that now hums before me, got it working but with some dodgy ram that randomly caused errors every once and a while, nice one. I had to restore the registry from backup at one stage. Saturday night was Gerrys 25th party. Had drinks round at our place which was cool with about 15-20 of her friends and family. Went out to the Royal Thai for dinner (a whole minutes walk from our place). That was real nice. They served good food and plenty of it. I couldn't eat it all but then I'd had a bit to drink so that may have affected things. Went out afterwards to Mezzinis, a friend of Gerry's was teaching Salsa dancing there. We came late though and she had left already so we followed her to Latinos. Everyone was doing the Salsa dancing there as well. I have decided that I will have to learn how to do this. I'm sure it impresses the chicks and I won't look so out of place when I try :) So got home pretty late that night.
Sunday I got up just before 12, hung round a bit, then went to Damians and played a little chess. I am now playing against him without my queen. Unfortunetly he has improved a bit since I last played and I kept loosing but it is a real challenge as I have been winning most of the time in an even game. Eventually I am hoping to be able to beat him without my queen, then people will call me legend as they walk past me in the streets (don't ask how they will know but they will). Andrew gave me a call and invited me round to check out and help set up his new computer in return for a meal. That was cool, I got him onto Napster and similar stuff then went out for a good meal. His wife Nikki is pregnant. He is less than a year older than me which is scary cause I haven't even thought about getting married yet, let alone having kids. I'll leave that till I'm 25 (eek, only next month). Ummm.... yes. Yeah I was going to write yesterday but the server was down last night and lots of today (slack arse host is all I can say!). Well that leaves Monday...
Monday 11:39AM
So now we're back up to date. Monday was a pretty standard, get up, iron a shirt to wear to work cause I got nothing else to wear, get to work, do the work thing and come home. What else is there to say? Well Dom, Gerry's boyfriend, left this morning. He is going overseas to study in Germany and doesn't know how long before he will be back (probably years). Gerry told me tonight that she has broken up with him as the long distance thing isn't really going to work. So now I have a single flatmate. That will be interesting. It was also Gerrys actual birthday today, she is officially old. I can't hassle her too much as I am quickly catching up on her. Her friend and her brother came round for tea which was cool. Her friend had baked her a nice chocolate cake which was nice. I am currently looking for friends like that since my birthday is coming up soon.
I had netball after work as I do on Mondays. I got an email today being asked by Jeremy if I wanted to fill in again for their team (I played for them last week straight after my game). It is quite funny that I met up with him there as I know him from Alex and then again from Uni, but anyway I was keen. Unfortunetly they are one of the better teams and I was again a little out of my league. I don't think I played as well this week as I did last week but still it was fun. One of the guys on the other team was awesome. He was shooting 2 pointers and getting most of them in. This gave them a pretty awesome score and they beat us in the end. So straight after that I went into our work game. I wasn't too tired, I think I am getting quite a lot fitter now, but was pretty sweaty. We lost that game too which was our last game. I still want to go practise shooting so I can get like that other guy but am a slack arse, I'm sure its genetic - somewhere in my DNA resides the slack gene. So got home after that and felt good which hopefully means I won't be so sore tomorrow (last week I was stiff for quite a few days). And so now we come to the roast. I had put a chicken out to defrost in the fridge on Saturday morning for Sunday night but then ended up going round to Andrew and Nikki's and having dinner with them. I thought sweet, I'll have it on Monday night, but then I agreed to two games of netball and so didn't have much time. So now its sitting in the oven and yes its 11:43. I'll be eating it by about 12:15 but damn its going to taste good.
So thats the goss for the last couple of days. I will be back on submitting entires most nights again from now on. I have had heaps of thoughts to share with the world but will try and spread them out over the next couple of days. Better go check on that roast aye..
