Robyn's birthday 9:11AM
Sunday
Sunday I was up early. Into town to buy a card and present for Robyn's birthday then back home to bake her a chocolate cake. I hadn't baked a chocolate cake since I'd left home. I didn't even have a cake tin so had to make a meatloaf chocolate cake! I wasn't feeling too bad, I had only drunk about 3 drinks after the 100 shots and had danced a large proportion of the night away.
We went up to Nana & Poppa's for a sweet feed and I met Robyn's new guy from Aussie. Man she doesn't waste any time. Seemed a nice guy. The food fixed me up a little so I headed home and caught up with Crispy & Tammy, come round to collect some gear then my cousin turned up and I gave her a few lessons on the guitar. She has a backwards one so its a little hard translating.
The rest of the night was spent with an average gym session to sweat out those evil beer particles then blobing infront of TV then into bed for sleep.
Monday
Was a bit of a sleep in day. Points of interest are that I went to see Goldmember which was good and Thomas had an interview which he got the job for. Nice one Tom. He now works for Sequel, working on Oracle databases and the like. Maybe he can score me a free one! He also has a good starting salary which is cool for him, he has a few debts to pay off. But anyway he'll be located in Wellington, a full time suit from next Monday onwards.
Tuesday
I was having this freaky dream where my cell phone had lost its cover (I dropped it the other day and the cover came loose) and because of that the display was different. I kept getting about 4 txt msgs at once and the screen showed a weird tree structure list of them and could fit about 15 on the screen at once. Just as quickly as I answered or deleted them, more would come. They were from Amy (who was meant to contact me about my sisters draws which she was looking after but she had been away) and they were for Char. Strange. Then I woke to a txt msg. Now I'm sure that I had this dream before I heard the sound of the txt msg but pretty freaky. Kinda like pre-empting life (seeing the future just before it comes). They say your brain is in a different state of mind while you sleep/dream. The higher functions are mainly shut down, leaving the primitive part of the brain in control...
Thomas and I went to check out the ice-skating rink. We were really excited about this as we used to skate lots as kids in Alex and we would rock at it once more. But the temporary rink they have set up in Chaffers park sucks man. We were ripped off. At $10/hour we were ushered into a tent with help your self to crappy arsed skates then hop on a half melted sheet of ice with road barriers round the edge and lumps in it. As if that wasn't bad enough there was 50-70 kids flying around in random chaotic movements like a jar full of flies. It was a nightmare. Not only was there no hot chicks (over 18) to check out mine & Thomas form but there was no space to do anything. The only fun part was watching little kids crop it and get drenched as they skidded long on top of the water/ice. Ok so it wasn't that bad but compared to Alex it really really sucked. We are now resolved to make a yearly pilgrimage to Alex to ice skate. Alex rocks.
The afternoon went by fast. Thomas kained my arse at chess. Mum took him home. I went gym. Then gym again with Dan for his assesment. Then I cooked the legend couscous and chicken stir fry thingie. Nice and content now..
Celebrating Thomas's job... 9:31AM
Oh yeah! Monday night we went out to the one red dog for a meal to celebrate Thomas getting a job. He didn't want to tell anyone (mum/dad/anyone), but thats just his style. After a few drinks and a good feed we headed to Kittys to see if there was any live music. We ended up talking hard core general relativity and argueing about the twin paradox. The barman must have found it most halarious to see two guys sitting at the bar saying ""But NO! if one space ship is travelling at the speed of light with a 1 year old child on it towards a stationary 1 year old child 50 light years away then when they meet, one child will still be 1, the other 50. But from each ones perspective it should be the other way around as neither can tell whos actually travelling and whos actually stationary."" He asked us if we needed another beer and we told him, yeah, we'd probably be here all night. We ended up going home and getting the physics book out but it was too simple and didn't explain our problem in depth. Anyway arguement unresolved for now.
100 shots continued... 11:21AM
Rock on fellow listeners, the 100 shots night was awesome. Back to where I left off...
Bang on 7pm, Sept 21, 2002 we began. The second gathering of the Perihelion 100 shots club. This time we had more contenders and only just enough room to seat everyone. Next time we will need another venue. Things started off pretty well. We now had four girls attempting the 100. The write up pretty much says it all. Suffice to say all had an excellent time. Steve couldn't hang on till 100 before going for a piss but Crispy managed it. Martin had his 100 canisters of beer which blew their load at random intervals during the night. Damian kept his spillage to a minimum before 100, afterwards things were a bit out of control. At 100 we had 4 or 5 guys lining to go for a piss, despretly. A few of us felt a little crook as well. Tammy and Damian continued on (plus a few others for a while) and Tammy got quite high before going outside for a bit of a yawn. Damian trudged on to the massive score of 161 but by this time he didn't know when the buzzer was going and was taking shots at random intervals. Unofficially he might have scored higher but we were only keeping official records there.
Things by this stage had turned into a happy mess. Sarah, Scott & Darrin had turned up to bear witness to our drunken house. Tom found himself wearing Emmas red dress at some stage but that didn't last long. His hairy legs and flat chest were a BIG turn off. I just kept grinning and was very happy. Our table was covered in more bottles than ever before counted. Damian was threatening to fall unconcious on his feet and we all agreed it was time to head out onto the town.
Crispy & Tammy disappeared home as did Damian, two of which had achieved the highest shot count. The rest of us found our way to Diva we we met up with Katrina and her friends.
Diva was alright. I was pissed enough to last me all night without another drink. Katrina was even more pissed. I have some excellent photos there as well, unfortunetly none of Tom dancing in the centre of a group of females who had pulled him in for entertainment. All in all a good night. The photos will tell the story better, but for now I must ice skate...
