Stimulants and Pauls fairwell at Vurtigo... 3:54AM
I was debating yesterday to write up about the use of drugs and other substances to stimulate the body. After last night I think its required...
Yesterday I had a terrible sleep. I ate too many chocolate coffee beans late at night then slept with the phone in my room awaiting a call from Colorado that never came through. I was up and at physio by 9. At the gym to get shown round the equipment and given a workout plan at 11:30, then back at home doing something else all afternoon which included scrubbing another of our bathrooms walls to remove that terrible mould. Steve had told me his mate Paul who I'd met a could of times before was leaving work and having fairwell drinks at Vurtigo. I decided to come along for a few quiets and check it out. It ended up being a big one and the Berocca is just managing to hold all the incurred damage at bay.
Last night was cold. Yesterday was cold. It pissed down with rain as I went out and I was quite wet by the time I arrived at Vurtigo, just a short walk from my house. Inside there was a small group of about 15 of Pauls work mates. Paul was quite happy to see me. But then he's like that, hes a very charismic guy, full of charm and likeability. Let me tell you about Paul. The last time I saw him was passing him at a crossing. He noticed me, gave me a big smile and a wink with a sparkle in it. That sounds like he was coming on to me but he was so not. He is just your friend just like that and he uses his charm to maximum effect. He pulls the woman and then lets them go again, always with a few on the take, possibly from Mermaids. Anyway he was most entertaining.
We hung out at Vurtigo for a while and I slowly got to know people as everyone got more and more pissed. The reason I was reminded of the foreign substances was because Paul had taken acid and was trying to get Steve to take some. Steve was a little apprehesive about it and needed a little reassurance and ended up taking a 1/4 which I don't think did too much. By now Paul was rocking. He had been drinking straight from his bottle of wine and had gone out the back for a smoke. It always looks real dodgy when three guys go to the toilet at once (the back door was out past the toilets), guys never go together unless doing drugs. Anyway he came back in and started chatting up some hot chicks down the other end of the room. I ended up talking to this guy who had seen me do the couch mission, he also used to cycle out to the Pencarrow lighthouse and had seen it painted like Mr Blobby. He was most impressed with our missions but I couldn't believe he recognised me from years back carrying a couch. Gotta say it definitly does catch peoples attention.
I ended up getting mothered on the drinks along with everyone else. We went back to Pauls for another smoke then back to Vurtigo again. There we started talking to two 18 year old sisters who I ended up going to Vespa with. I lost Steve and Paul somewhere on the way and eventually came home also, very late and very wasted. My headache is only just starting to go away now...
so now I have some cool photos to post up. Maybe not just yet though.
I think it won't be too long before they design drugs that target the brain causing any number of enhancements without the side effects. When this is done will it be right or good to take these drugs all the time? Will people walk round permanently on a high, permanently smarter, more able to concentrate, etc, etc? Is that not just a filter on reality? Are you not just errecting your own little matrix then
