How much you consume... 8:51AM
I think that whole planets thing comes down more to a factor of where you live just as much as how you live. Assuming you grow your own vegetables, use virtually no electricity and walk everywhere you still live and use a society which is excessively consumptive (is that a word?). Think of this, you must drink water which comes from taps, pipes, control centres, reseviours, etc. All this takes materials and energy to build and maintain and thats just the water you drink. What about the roads you walk on? The lights you use at night or walking around town at night, the shops you purchase stuff from (New World must consume heaps in energy and resources), etc, etc. We cannot escape our usage on a planet wide basis. More we must make do with what we have in our local environment and make sure it is sustainable. It is not our fault that we have fish a plenty, forest, food and fresh water when people who live in the desert don't. On average therefore our consumption is high and theirs low and of course there's more people where the resources are hence more people with a high consumption. It just makes sense tho. Although we should be more conservative our means of measuring this need to be more subjective, taking into account the sustainability of our resources that we are using and our local environment.
Maybe I should get back to work now. I brought some new headphones yesterday. Also some new running shoes (it was pay day). They gave me two right feet for the running shoes so I have to take them back today. Idiots are all around us. Beware
The final solution. 12:47PM
There will eventually be a solution but maybe not in the form you would think. Once reliably how learn to manipulate matter on the atomic scale then shall dawn a new age. The universal providers will come about, producing everything we could ever ask for from the energy stored in the atoms around us. We shall want for nothing and the resources we each consume shall become virtually nothing. Until then we must waste
Oriental bay 12:54PM
Oriental bay has changed a lot. The one small beach that once was there is now huge in comparison and spans two beachs (one that used to be rocks). The work done there is good. It looks wicked from my work, staring out and down to the bay with its little fountain and all that golden sand. It looks like some tropical resort island, except that its not at all tropical. Their work is far from finished yet though. The pavement still lies in ruins. Much of it fenced off and barriers put up on the roads so you can walk around it. It is unfit for rollerblading. Unfit for running, yet we still do. One day soon though it will all be finished and then we will be able to walk out and enjoy the new beach in the middle of winter. Next year things will be different
