money expo 6:12AM
i went to the money expo at the convention centre on sunday. couldn't believe how old everyone else was (compared to me, i mean :). all these parents and grandparents going 'shit we're getting old and we have no money to retire with'. why aren't people getting involved at my age? or younger even. why aren't we educated about money at school? appart from basic accounting we don't really have much on offer. how about a sharemarket and investing class? i think everyone should read rich dad, poor dad by robert kiyosaki and every other book in his series. then everyone can make an informed choice as to whether they want to work all their lives and retire with bugger all to show for it, or retire young and rich. All those people who say money doesn't matter and all that, are in denial. Yeah, happiness over money but with money you have the option to pursue those things that make you happy. like not having to work because you have a passive income that can support you and therefore spending more time at home with the kids, or travelling and learning about a different culture, or helping those in need in your spare time. it is fear which stops you. educate yourself.
